An interesting connection between Maryland and Davidson is that longtime Terps coach Lefty Driesell coached at Davidson before coming to Maryland. He even got Davidson to the Elite Eight one year, in the mid to late '60s. |

Dude, when you know nothing about college hoops you don't have much else to go on except the seedings. But I did try and research a little bit about each matchup before picking them. I looked at their last 5. A bit like predicting a horse race winner. ![]() |

| Re: MARCH MADNESS BRACKETS... Join Now! Lefty was our arch rival when I was in school. We used to have this great picture of his big old bald head with an empty gas gauge printed over it. There would usually be about thirty roles of kids behind the visitors' bench all holding the picture over their faces. |

| Re: MARCH MADNESS BRACKETS... Join Now! Stanford was a stupid move on my part, but I figured if they were lucky enough to get in that they might just win one. Bobby Knight let me down. Yeah...he's a loudmouth jackass, but ya gotta admire the drill sergeant in the guy. He is Woody Hayes temperamental basketball equivalent. They broke the mold after those two guys...the likes of which will probably never be seen again in college sports. "They" being the media. 187 points to go! ![]() |
