Drury got blindsided by Chris Neil and it sparked an all out brawl. All 12 players on the ice got into it for 5 minutes, including the goalies who squared off against each other. Then, once he was done man handling Biron, Sens goalie Ray Emery took on Buffalo tough guy Andrew Peters... and was LAUGHING! I've seen goalies fight before, but I've NEVER seen the goalie fight another goalie and THEN a position player, let alone a tough guy.

Had the coaches not been seperated by 2 plexiglass walls, they'd have been in there as well.

ESPN.com - NHL - Recap
Great stuff Jammer. Thanks for sharing.

Despite my best efforts, my computer wouldn't let me watch the entire tape, but I got to the part where Emery takes off his mask.

Drury was definitely blindsided. What was funny was that Ottawa put Heatley, Spezza and Comrie on the ice, but Buffalo countered with their goon squad. Buffalo was obviously out for blood before the face off, and they were doing everything they could to start a rhubarb.

Bad news for your fantasy team though. Drury may be out for a bit.

Just good old fashioned hockey.

A minor trade:
The Carolina Hurricanes acquired right wing Anson Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday for a 2008 draft pick, giving the defending Stanley Cup champions a scoring threat to replace a pair of injured forwards.

Carter is a decent second tier power forward.

I drafted him and he was cut almost as quickly as Tom Poti.

He's not a fantasy player. He's the kind of guy who can help a team in the playoffs when the premium is on defense and physicality.

I agree. I'd love to have Carter on the Habs.

Here's a better, longer link from YouTube.

YouTube - Senators Sabres brawl 2/22/07

Buffalo was the home team, so they had last line change. Murray should have called a timeout when he saw Ruff send out 3 goons against his top line.

Emery looks like he can take care of himself pretty good, but a positional player shouldn't be allowed to go after a goalie. A Sen player should have put a stop to that. Too bad it was Spezza and Heatley out there.

The funniest part is that former tough guy Rob Ray is right in the middle of it, doing colour commentary between the benches while 2 coaches go at it!

ESPN.com - NHL - Recap
The rematch game is currently in progress. Already 2 fighting majors in the game tonight, with the Senators winning 4-2 in the 2nd period. Also, a great Wings and Predators game is going on right now (2-1 Detroit in 2nd period)
