For a top-line forward who has led the Red Wings in scoring the past two seasons, such a red-light drought can be a focus entering this spring's playoffs.

Of course, if Datsyuk performs well starting with Thursday's Game 1 against Calgary at Joe Louis Arena, then past performances become the distant and forgettable past.
