But you also can consider trading for a good one. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. Make some offers to your fellow GM's. Trading has been slow in our league so far.
I don't want to trade for a permanent relief, that's the problem. My guy should be back in a couple of weeks. Anyway, I can't believe my ignorance of the rules sparked this long drawn out discussion.

The thing is... a couple of people already brought out the three game rule to everyone's attention in this thread at the beginning of the season. I know Woody said something to Roscoe about it. Not sure how you missed it.

Anyhow, man up and play the game already. This ain't no league for whiners (except Jammer andthe other Cannuckian, of course). You're Russian (I think) so you don't get the exemption.

You'd think that at least one of your 72 roster moves would have landed you a half decent goalie by now.

As much as it pains me, I'd have to agree with Tater. There have been some very quality starting goalies available as FAs this year. Marty Turco (a few times now), Marc-Andre Fleury (a few times now), Johan Holmqvist, Manny Legacy. I've actually been surprised with the quality of goalies available.

Not to mention currently available guys like Kolzig, Khabibulin, Mason, Hedberg, Garon, Budaj, Mike Smith, etc.

Mikhail:

Last year I got caught with a poor goalie (Cam Ward) who is playing much better this year. I drafted goalies this year early (Brodeur and Hasek), but they both have had various problems so far. Hopefully, they're better now. I was counting on getting most of the goalie points all year - we'll see.

Laimbeer drafted Brind'Amour, whom I wanted, so he could always win the face-off point.

Fact is, no one has all the guys they want (except Bezeach). He never swaps out anyone. But then, he's much smarter than the rest of us.
He's the Patriots of this league.

I feel that the main idea is to talk a lot of smack, and, ocassionally, beat Tater and Jammer. That's enough enjoyment in itself.

That's funny, I thought I was in first place. I've also made the 3rd fewest roster moves in the entire league. Hmmm....

I was going for Brind'Amour as well. I was also focusing on face-offs going into the draft. (By the way, if anyone is keeping track, I'm 10-0 on weekly faceoff wins. I have 181 more wins than Laimb, who is in 2nd.)

Hey, I'm not complaining. As I've said before, this is all a learning experience. I don't read every post so there are some things I could have missed. But I'm enjoying it and with all the moves I'm making I am learning more about the players as well. Isn't that's what this is all about?

I always thought that Tater was the least humble person here.

Seems I hadn't considered Jammer.

But, now I've met a nice new friend - Mikhail. He seems much better balanced than either Tater or Jammer.

Roscoe, where did you ever find these guys??? Or did they find you?

But then, who on this forum is balanced??

Pistons fans are all a bubble-and-a- half off.

Believe it. And keep posting. Darth is learning from all of us, including you. He's way behind the learning curve.

You ever heard the expression, don't feed stray pets?

Re: Official 2007/2008 PF.com Fantasy Hockey Talk Thread

Alright people, I'm looking to make a deal.

I need help with Goals and +/- so I'm looking to move the following players.
Langkow
Drury
Sykora
Markov

I'd be willing to do an even trade (1-for-1, 2-for-2, 3-for-3, etc.) or would be willing to package 2 or 3 of these guys for 1 in return.

Let me know if you're interested.

P.S. I'd also consider moving Marian Hossa, but the deal would have to be well worth it. I'm not going to give him away for a scrub who has good +/-.
