Sundin a Wing?

Sportsnet Ontario just reported that the Wing's Swedish delegation of players has told Sundin that they will go to bat with Ken Holland to trade for him, if he wants to play for a winner this season.

Keep an eye out for more development on this.

In a town like Windsor, just trading for Sundin would be enough ammo for me to drive all of the Leaf's fans nuts. It would be like Dennis Rodman playing for the Bulls.

Re: Sundin a Wing?

Being a die-hard Habs fan, I dislike the Wings, but I despise the Leafs, so I'm ok with this trade as long as Detroit doesn't give up too much to get him. Anything to make the Leafs worse works for me.

John Ferguson Jr. is on his last life in T.O. I don't know if that would mean that he'd be less likely to make a deal like this, not wanting to rock the boat, or if it would make him more likely to pull the trigger, either because he's desperate, or he knows that the writing is on the wall, so why not.

He'd be a good addition, but at what cost?

When did hockey season start? I must have been busy watching grass grow and counting potential Cabrera's RBI's!

That's funny. Only 30+ games into the NHL season.

Re: Sundin a Wing?

I heard Stoney & Sean Balligian on DFN talking about Mats Sundin the other day.

And Rob Blake (LA - D) is also someone the Wings might be looking at.

I wouldn't mind Blake if he is cheap, or Sundin, if the deal is structured like the Bertuzzi deal last year, where we don't give up much if he doesn't perform or re-sign with us.
