Bring on Dallas.

This will be a VERY fun series for me. I work with a couple of Texans who I'm good friends with (one guy & one gal) and who are already talking crap...although they keep telling me I'm a Tampa Bay fan so I can't like the Wings. Truth be told, although I do sport a Tampa Jersey, if it came down to it, I would root for the Wings...no question about it.

Plus Dallas is the parent club of the minor league (ECHL)Idaho Steelheads, so I root for Dallas a bit myself...until they play the Wings, that is.

Dallas has to put out San Jose first. That series is not decided yet. It's been very very close. One fortunate bounce can change the course of events.

Re: 2008 Red Wings Playoffs

Finally Wings opponent has been decided. Dallas beat San Jose in 4 overtimes 2-1 and will take on the Detroit team in the Western Conference finals. Wings avoid having to go to the West coast this playoff season which may benefit them in the long run.

Dallas should be mentally and physically exhausted too.

In the playoffs every little bit helps. Wings should be rested and a bit healed from these few days off. However, series doesn't start until Thursday, at least according to this. So Dallas will get 3 days off to rest and prepare. Not sure why would NHL make a break between the series so long, especially considering that the Eastern Finals do not start until Friday.
