Wings make lackluster Pens look silly

"The first 20 minutes of Saturday night’s opening game of the Stanley Cup finals were reserved for getting rid of the heebie-jeebies. The final 40 minutes was all men against boys."

Re: 2008 Red Wings Playoffs

Great news!

DETROIT (AP)—Red Wings forward Johan Franzen has been cleared by doctors and put in the lineup for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals Monday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Franzen hasn’t played since Game 1 of the Western Conference finals because of recurring headaches. He is tied with teammate Henrik Zetterberg for the NHL playoff lead with 12 goals.
Franzen was allowed to return to practice Friday and was on the ice Monday for the Red Wings’ morning skate. On Sunday, he said he had been symptom-free for seven to 10 days and was awaiting permission from doctors to play.

Wings have done an outstanding job integrating new players and young talent along w/ the core of Lids, Zetterberg, Dats. Babcock has coached a wonderful run so far. GO WINGS!!

They did get lucky with Zetts. The guy they wanted went earlier in the draft so they were stuck with Zetts, happily. They liked his smarts.

I don't see the Penguins beating the Wings 4 of 5. They will be lucky to get a goal in the series.

I smell Stanley Cup. Two to go.

Re: 2008 Red Wings Playoffs

Penguins and their coach are crying that Osgood flopped with a minute to go in the game.

Except that the Pens were down 3-0.

These kids are out of their element.

Not sure, but seemed like they were targeting Franzen. If so, the Wongs gotta hit an innocent bystander (Sid the Kid).

kids being the key word.... there just not ready yet for the main stage, though i think they'll be scary in a year or two, the experience card between the two teams is just very apparent.
