Re: 2008 Red Wings Playoffs

well this series was maybe one game longer than needed but wings played how they are suppouse to play and preds had only few moments there. Ellis was MVP in this series, no doubt.

I have to admit, I know Bob Goodenow, the former player union prez, and he didn't think much of the commish. And Bob is not a bad guy in that whole thing, so I can trust his judgement. He wouldn't give me much, but he clearly didn't like the direction that league took.

Re: 2008 Red Wings Playoffs

Interesting game winning goal from the center-ice. Crazy bounce, I wouldn't fault the goaltender. But Nashville is simply not good enough. Although, I have to be honest, a few breaks going their way and Detroit is coming back for the game 7. With this win Wings can breathe easier and just sit and wait for their second round opponent. It will be decided in the 7th game of the Sharks-Flames series. Should Sharks win, Wings will host Avs. Nothing like Wings-Avs series to get interest up. Should Flames win, they'll be coming to Detroit for the second round series. I'm pulling for Sharks.

If Ozzie keeps playing this good, we might go all the way. He was fantastic in Game 6.

Chris Osgood to start in Round 2 | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press

"I thought goaltending was a big difference," coach Mike Babcock said. "Dom would tell you he was really good in Game 2, he got us the win in Game 2, but the puck didn't hit him as good here in Nashville. So when Ozzie came in, it gives you a change and it gives you a boost, and he's done a good job.
"Ozzie's obviously got the net right now, and it's his job to make sure Dom doesn't get back in it. But Dom's going to do everything he can to be ready."

Wings Win 4-3 over the Avs. Theodore looks washed up.

Great game from Franzen, who is one of my favorite players now.
