You have to wait until the following week to replace them. You have until the end of Sunday (I think it's around 2ish am EDT Monday morning or something like that) to make your roster changes for the week. After that, you can't make any changes for any reasons.

They would release and pick-up players daily to maximize the # of players that they would have playing each day. The strategy is to have more players playing than your opponent. The result was that there would be a large # of players on waivers at any given time, so if you did have to pick-up a player due to an injury, your pickings were pretty slim and if you wanted to pick up anyone half decent, you'd have to waste a waiver claim on them and not get to use them until they cleared.

Personally, I very much dislike that type of play.

I have enjoyed weekly lineups in previous leagues that I've been in. The biggest downside is the aforementioned injury issue.

Limiting roster moves and going with daily lineups would be another option, but IMO, the limit would have to be pretty low in order to really eliminate "Tatering" as an option.

At the end of the day, I'm still going to play regardless of the rules we decide to go with, those are just my 2 cents.

Well said. And let me also say: To all concerned, don't misconstrue my input as criticism. As they said on schoolhouse rock: Knowledge is power.

Re: -----> 2008 FANTASY HOCKEY <-----

I wanted to let all concerned, in addition to the official PF Fantasy Hockey league, I am going to be forming another unofficial league, and I'll have some spots open for anyone who wants to join a 2nd league. I'll start an additional thread for it. Rules will be posted there, and probably won't be up for debate much.

I'll still happily be participating in this league. I have a couple of friends who want to play in a league together, so I'm starting a new league, and am extending the invite to anyone who'd like to fill up my manager spots.

Re: -----> 2008 FANTASY HOCKEY <-----

So how many do we have here?

01 Darth
02 Jammer
03 Roscoe
04 Darth's Friend
05 Redline
06 Woody
07 Mikhail
08 Bezeach
09 BillLaimbeer
10 Superstarov

Did I miss anyone?

We need an even number for a live draft. So if this group is committed, we should be good.

Anyone on this list not interested?

Anyone NOT on this list that wants to join in on the fun? We have room to expand a bit so let me know. We'd love to have you join us.

Most of us will be happy to help you understand the basics of fantasy sports as far as how to draft a team, basic rules, and ANY other questions you might have.

It's actually very easy to do and learn (although people like Woody and Roscoe never seem to get it).

I'm not sure what specific questions you have. Ask as many as you like. No questions are too basic. We will do our best to answer all of them.

The only thing we ask is that you don't quit in mid season. That really spoils it for everyone.

Re: -----> 2008 FANTASY HOCKEY <-----

Looks like we can sign up now. I'll try to set up the league tonight.

I'm setting it for ten people. IF I hear from anyone else, I'll set the league for twelve. It's probably a setting I can adjust before the draft anyhow.

I'm going to set the draft for NEXT weekend. It looks like the regular season starts September 20th. Is that correct?

When would you guys prefer to draft NEXT weekend? Friday, Saturday, or Sunday? Day or evening?

If you can't make it to the live one, you can do auto draft.

Also, Please confirm that you want to be in the league.

Please let me know...

I'm in.

Friday nights 9pm or later works best for me. Saturday isn't good, but I can auto draft if necessary. Sunday would be same time as Friday, after 9pm.
