As the All Star Game approaches, I figured it'd be kinda cool for people to show off the best of their FA Pickups. Was a certain pick-up a stroke of genius? nominate him for the FA all star team. Explain why you're nominating him. Adv. and Nov leagues.
I'll start mine.
Kenny Thomas: With SAR going down with a broken jaw, KT stepped up nicely. Contributing 12pts. 10 reb with 53% FG and 2.9 assists...including a triple double during January, this guy helped turn my downward spiral to last place into a easy glide into the basement. SAR is finding his way back but KT is still putting up nice numbers.
I know there are better pick ups than that.
Tater: you can't nominate darko....yet:P

I've thought about this very question myself.
Personally, as much as I love to work the F.A. wire, you would think I would have found someone really good. But I haven't really.
I had Nocioni (Chi) , but I got sick of him and dropped him. He did good for me though.
I guess my best pickup has been Claxton. He puts up pretty good numbers for a F.A. and really helped me start winning in the steals category.
Childress is coming on for me & Felton is looking good too.
The guy that would amaze me with free agents was Micro. Seriously, he would pick up a guy BEFORE the dude even started to get hot and dump him right BEFORE he cooled off. He did it several times. It would piss me off! lmao.

My nominations for my team would have to be:
Kendrick Perkins - trading of Blount was huge for this shotblocking monster!
Bobby Simmons - after a very slow start he has begun to return to the form that earned him Most Improved Player last year
Smush Parker - although his field goal pct. leaves something to be desired, his steal totals have been amongst the league best.

Kenyon Martin and Mo Williams have worked out very well for me. Mo is suffering from a sprained ankle so has been out for a couple of weeks, but I think he comes back tonight to show Tater how it's done.

Micro. That cat is awesome. Although I've really only seen him play about 10 minutes, your enthusiam has me totally sold on this guy.
But... can he stop Shaq?

Linwood, he'll crawl on his belly across a floor of rabbit entrails to get a loose ball.
He's ugly, and looks ungainly. He gets his ass kicked in the paint, and comes back for more, earning many of his points at the FT line.
He rebounds, rebounds, rebounds particularly on the offensive end.
He has no 18' jumpshot to speak of. He's not much of a shotblocker.
He is the Anti-Darko. I love him.

Seriously, he sounds like my type of guy!
I'll nominate Samuel Dalembert.
He was injured to start the season and I picked him up about 2 weeks before he was due to come back. I made a mental note to watch when he was coming back cos I was short on good centres.
Now bloody Pastor won't leave me alone with trade requests for the guy!
9.1 pts, 9.9 rebs, 3.4 blks (1st in NBA), 55% FG

Lol webz.
I was trying to grab him but I had 3 injured guys at the time...plus I was still pretty strong at C. Alas, he went the way of Rafer, d.west and felton...waited too long.
