Thread bump - this is not a gimmie game especially without Sheed.
I do agree with the coaches decision to start DD instead of Dyess. Don't want Dyess logging in too many mins and getting injured weeks before the post-season.
Pistons win #60 101-93

Davis to start and hopefully, we can finally see Cato in this game. Would be nice to see Big Ben take on West defensively.
Hopefully, we can see a lot of our bench tonight since they did not play much in the Suns game other than Dice. Hunter shall play Paul tough on D when Billups take some rest. Hope to see the starters play not more than 35 min.
DETROIT BASKETBALL!!!

I'm looking forward to this game for just simply to see how this team plays without one of the starters. I think it is a good thing that Sheed gets some rest and sit back and see other guys step up and play good minutes. Along with Davis maybe we will see Cato in the game, it maybe a long shot but it might happen tonight.
NOK comes into the game playing good basketball, still having playoff hopes and need to win this game, which why I thought this game would be pretty hard for the Pistons to get. NOK will play hard and come out with some energy and give a good game, I think the Pistons are on cruise control and they really like to see how teams play them first and than they make adjustments and go for the kill.
This will be a defensive game I do believe and look for the score to be around the same when the teams met in early January back in Oklahoma.
The Pistons win 93-84 Dice and Rip will have the big games in this one I think. GO PISTONS!!!!!!

Same old Pistons. Slow to start the game and will finish with some lock down D. It`s becoming old, but I love it!
I don`t think we will get behind by double digits, but a slow start is a gimmie.
Who is going to shoot those 3`s or be our PIP man with Sheed not playing? If we try to go straight up "perimeter" with NO it will be closer than I`d like.
Good game for Flip to play everybody if the score dictates!

I hate to say this, but . . 'Sheed being gone might lead to higher FG%. :P Kidding. Lately he's been sticking around in the post. I'm thinking Chris Paul will start slow, end hot. Lindsey will get some valuable PT, as will Delfino. Pistons 89 Hornets 77

Ol' Roscoe won't get to shoot the trey bomb tonight, but he will be eating some Doritos and watching the game. :D

Was Mcdyess trying to tell Flip/Joe something in this game. He was flat out awsome. Sheed go ahead and get your T's bud Antonio has your back.
I thought Dale looked decent for someone who'd been rusted to the bench for eight months. Cato didn't play, but looks huge in his warmups, which I guess should come in handy if the Pistons have to deal with Snaq in the postseason.
Dice was completely and utterly fantastic until he started to tire at the end. Delk gets away with a ton of offensive fouls when he's creating space, but "gets away with" are the key words. Good shooting night from the Toaster Oven. Delfino and Evans were fighting in a race to the bottom, apparently, as each of them sunk to new lows in their levels of play. I think Evans won; Delfino's almost useless but Evans isn't even an NBA caliber player at this point.
Other than that - a bit of a step backwards to the "low intensity" basketball of a few weeks ago, with not much energy or great play from any of the starters but Tayshaun - who continued his hot streak - but a win's a win, I guess, and this one's #60.

Good shooting night from the Toaster Oven
LOL, I like it... he springs up another tre
I thought DD was showing his age... a couple steps behind on most defensive plays...maybe it's not fair to judge on his first game back (like me playing the teenagers tonight :P
60 W's.... How sweet it is Alice... to the moon!
Ok enough with the Mosquitoes (Hornets) ... let's open up the Heat thread.
So much for my theory of not wanting to overextend Dyess as he played the most minutes of any Piston. May as well just have started him.
Kinf of a different game where the other team took more shots. Pistons were more efficient and got to the line more shooting 25-30 from the line.
ahb - Flip seems to be losing both players

Chris Paul has some jets. He is an exciting young player to watch. Hopefully, the NOLA/OKC Hornets have a future to look forward to.
Give me a veteran team that knows how to win any day.
Go Pistons
I'm penciling in Chris Paul as the second coming of Allen Iverson. He is fun to watch, and might just have the same kind of heart.
Otherwise, a bit of a weird game. It just didn't look right without Sheed coming in and it's hard to imagine how weird it must have felt to the team. Some of 'em have never seen a Pistons game with any other starters.
Double D started out like a train wreck but settled down a bit as things went on. I'm not at all sure how he got credited with only two turnovers though. Rip got shoved around some early, knocked down a couple of times, and pretty much just decided to join Sheed and take the night off. Only 29 minutes should have him well rested for tomorrow night though. Very nice game from Delk.
Dice just wears NOK out and CB shoots poorly, but gets to the line about every twelve seconds.
Bring on the Heat and Magic and let's get the regular season thing over with.

Other than Billups, all the starters played less than 35 min, which is great though Billups could have played less in between the 1st and 2nd quarter.
Dice is simply awesome the last couple of weeks. Ditto Prince. Dice and Delk coming off the bench will be fun to watch in the playoffs. This two guys can really get the points. What is more important, they play decent D too. Hunter will be Hunter, the defensive specialist. Really can't wait till the playoffs. Davis played well too considered the minutes he has played all season long.
If Flip can get all of the bench (other than Dice) more minutes down the last few games before the playoffs, the whole squad shall be ready for the playoffs and ready to kick some butts.
As far as i could remember, the Stones do get a higher percentage of 3s made if they put up 10 to 15 of this shots a game. I hope Flip would remind them the amount of 3s they put up in the playoffs.
Sheed and Rip should have enough rest and should be ready for the Heat game. Hopefully, we will win both games down south.

davis started slow but ended well. we turned the ball over a ton but still had full control of the game. mcdyess is a machine. the starters are getting rest. chris paul is a phenomenal player. i don't mind delk shooting a lot.
^^ my quick thoughts from the game.

My first Piston game in a while but I am tired of it already. Get on with the post-season, already.
Seriously though, the Pistons find so many ways to win. Dyess awesome and Tayshaun, keep it up. You are peaking at the right time.
With Miami down to one center, unhealthy at that, it looks like the Pistons will be playing someone else in the ECF. Indy fizzling as well, but the Nets are getting it done. Still not going to be easy to get to SA, but I think the Pistons will get it done.

FYI: In the post game interview Flip said Rip suffered an owie to the hip. Happened in the third quarter (I think). Abdenour and Kaander were shown on TV evaluating him during a timeout. Didn't look serious.

I guess you do occasionally miss something useful by fast forwarding through all but actual playing time. Explains why Rip didn't come back in when NOK made the late run and the tech he picked up after meeting the floor early in the game.
Definitely need him on for tomorrow night so it could be a day of treatment.
