View Full Version : MSU to Host Notre Dame in Night Game
EAST LANSING -- Michigan State's Sept. 23 football game against Notre Dame at Spartan Stadium will be played at night.
The 8 p.m. game, to be televised by ABC, is just the sixth night game in the 83-year history of Spartan Stadium.
"A prime-time telecast provides Michigan State with an opportunity to showcase the entire university in addition to its football program," Spartan coach John L. Smith said. "It's also a great opportunity to spotlight one of college football's most storied rivalries."
The game will mark the 40th anniversary of the 1966 game between the second-ranked Spartans and top-ranked Irish that ended in a 10-10 tie. MSU's '66 team will hold a reunion that weekend in conjunction with the anniversary date.
Michigan State has a 3-2 record in night games in Spartan Stadium. In the last one, on Sept. 18, 2004, the Spartans lost to Notre Dame, 31-24.
Finally, another excuse to go to a MSU game.
Anyone else going?

MSU has a football team?
It'd take more than a football game, and those stupid white uniforms to get me to visit that town. Even if it meant that one of my two most hated teams were gauranteed to lose.
GO BLUE!

Just for that I'm switching back to my MSU avatar so that you have to look at it every time I post.
Do they have a NIT tournament for college football? Your basketball team seemed to do well there.
Don't even mention George Mason or I'll bring up EDMONTON! :P

Careful, or I'll get myself a Notre Dame avatar. I hate the Irish, but not as much as I hate MSU. I've actually cheered for the Irish when they're playing MSU.
That's how deep my hatred runs. Wanna play hard ball? I'll do it....
Actually, I have a better idea. Maybe I could find a pic of Charles Rogers looking all baked out, or Plaxico Burress spiking the ball while the play is still running, or the ultimate insult: Matteen Cleeves in a pro uni.
What are you gonna get? Webber with a bunch of cash in is hand? At least that makes sense.

Lol. Funny stuff.
But I've got a much better picture of Weber's hands. He has them formed in the shape of a "T". He is calling a very famous timeout.
Man, I hate U of M so much, I root for them to score a few more points against hated Notre Dame so I can enjoy watching U of M lose without knowing the outcome of the game is decided by the end of the first quarter! :P
