The team from France is 1-2 in the tournament... they'll be facing elimination.
Tony Parker had a very bad game (1-10 shooting) the last game vs Slovania

Still this team has several NBA players and prospects:
Tony Parker (Spurs), Mikael Pietrus (Warriors), Boris Diaw (Suns), Gelabale (Sonics)

Other known talent includes: Florent Pietrus & Antoine Rigaudeau (best French player ever)

If Serbia Montenegro wins this game they will move to the qtr finals to face Spain (the team that beat them already).

The Darko results can be posted here for this game, as the Euro championship thread is getting fairly long.

Correction, if Serbia-Montenegro makes it to the qtr finals they'll face Lithuania, not Spain...

Looks like Serbia is having a hard time keeping up with the perimiter players of France (esp Parker) 39-33 Serbia with France at the line 1:08 left in the first half

mercury

Well no DMC in the first half... Krstic has 8pts and 3 boards
Guess the coach is going with the vets... may only see Darko in a defensive role or hopefully a blowout 44-35 Serbia at halftime

Zelly ain't cuttin' it man... he's too slow on defense 44-42

Serbia has a real problem with giving up dribble penetration... France can get inside anytime they want... Jaric is an overated defender
France is up 63-58 with 7 minutes left in the game.

72-71 France, looks like Kristic just fouled out. Zelly in, doesn't look like a Darko sighting today...

Final France 74- Serbia 71
LB would have been proud of this SErbian coach... Zelly's stinking up the whole game... Krstic fouls out with 1:08 left .... so the coach puts Zelly in... what does he do?
two quick fouls (one on offense)... and he misses two FT's...
they finally let Darko play with 10 seconds left... he gets an offensive rebound and misses the shot.

Serbia looked tight the whole game... couldn't stop the ball.
On offense they never tried to take advantage of their size difference.

That's it for Serbia I believe.

yeah, one rebound. He must have really upset somebody.

Dang, I was looking forward to more Darko basketball. Thanks alot Zelly!

Zelly committed an offensive foul then drew a foul and proceeded to miss both free throws. Why did that hack get all of that time again? I know his post game is okay, but jeesh that dude couldn't D-up Ray Charles.

Yeah, I might have been a little hard on Jaric... since it wasn'rt just him letting his man get by...it wasn't just Tony Parker getting inside either.

But I think the slow footed gaurds really cost them... especially without a shot blocker in the game (ah hem... ie Darko)

Darth Tater

In a way, maybe this is kind of good because it shows Flip, or whoever, that Darko DID make a difference for Serbia, and there's a good possibility they would have won with him in there.

Please give him a chance Flip.

tough loss to the french. boris diaw's free throw shooting struggles continue, he is now 4-24 this tourney. thats a whopping 16.6%, enough to make ben wallace feel embarrassed for the guy...

dirk carrying his team over the line with half his teams points. memo hasn't really had much to write home about this tourney, i know these tournaments are a different style to the nba and all that, but is there anyone who still thinks we should have kept him over sheed?

Serbs lost cause Darko got no pt,simple as dat.Looks like some head cases in the serb team, starting with the head coach who at the post-game press conference said he's ready for the mental hospital.HAHAHA & now you tell us coach.Main thing is Darko's got on the wrong side of that coach during last nights practisse, thats why no action for Darko today. In other words 'NO DARKO=NO WIN'.
