The old Lions were horribly mediocre, and you could predict their final record at the start of every season. It was generally 7-9, 8-8, or 9-7, and sometimes 10-6. Always hovering around the .500 mark. These Lions feel successful if they go 4-12, which then invokes WCF to pass out a bonus check to every incompetent on his staff.
No, these are not the same old Lions, but it is the same old management, and they follow the 6 Phases of a Project syndrome.
1. Wild Enthusiasm (M&M Hired)
2. Disillusionment (Marty Fired, Mooch Hired)
3. Panic (It's not getting any better, we are here now)
4. Search for the Guilty (So many, so little time)
5. Punishment of the Innocent (Whoever gets fired won't be the problem)
6. Praise and Honors for the Non-Participants (Nuff said)
