Another one bites the dust. Wow, and July is only one week old. What athletes will still remain in Detroit when August rolls around?

What a sad state of affairs in Detroit sports.
Three months ago...who would've 'thunk' the Tigers to be the bright spot in our sporting world :) :P

I didn't want to see him go...but now he's teamed up with JJagr. Scarey!
I think the team can do something good with the money they didn't spend on Shanny.

Hopefully, the Rangers won't expect a great playoff performer. :eyebrows:

Shanahan did score 40 goals last season, but his age is going to catch up with him. He only signed a 1 year deal...

It was a good time for Shanny to leave. He's definately lost a step and his playoffs have been pathetic.
Hopefully the Wings can land Peca now.:fingerscr
Mitch Albom wrote a good article on Shanny leaving.
Here it is. (http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060710/SPORTS05/607100370/1053)

The Red wings need to start signing people, they have 9 people on the roster to fill in before the season starts. Their first need is a goaltender, while they need a strong-physical defensemen, because they got out-hit during last seasons playoffs. They also need more speed, so they need to sign some wings that have speed.
Shanahan is now headed to the big apple, he had a really good career in Detroit. He won three stanley cups with the Wings, but it was his time to go.
