What happened to him? There has been no word of any offers to him yet, and he is the 2nd best FA only under Ben Wallace.

He's waiting for a S&T with a team that can pay more than the Kings and can return less salary to them...
He could be stuck, if the Kings decide not to play his game.... he may end up settling for the MLE with any team that's willing to pay.

that last scenario would be great since we got Ronald Murray so cheap
Would give Fans one more reason to distrust Joe D.

I'm a big fan of Bonzi, hoping he would land here. After Ben made his trek to the Bulls Bonzi should have signed his deal with Sacto, for the 36 million. Right now the market is drying up and it looks like he will have to play for small dollars and try again next year.
The Lastest news was the nuggets, which wanted him from the begining but his price tag has always been to high. Bonzi still might get his money but with each passing day it seems more unlikely with teams execs come august like to shut it down for vacation time.

I think Bonzi would be a 3rd option, backing up Posey and Wade.

Bonzi Wells doesn't belong in Detroit. We've already tried that before. Besides, no cap room. If we hadn't jumped on Nazr Mohammed so quickly then we might have been able to think about him. Besides, Billups and Rip make a good back court anyways, one of the best in the NBA.

Maybe he shouldn`t be in Detroit, however, he might be able to help one of our rivals, which is not good.

Dlev, this was story from Thursdays Sun Sentinel. Have not heard about any developments since, but you are right it is better to see him sitting on our bench than the Heat, Pacers, Bulls or Cavs
Bonzi Wells' agent talking to Heat: South Florida Sun-Sentinel (http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/basketball/heat/sfl-spheat21sep21,0,3224304.story?coll=sfla-sports-heat)

I remember he played very good during the preseason years ago, why did the Pistons give up on him?
And could anyone explain to me why the Heat have the money the Pistons don't have???

If Bonzi, top on our list for free agents, ends up signing with Miami...
..the Pistons officially get an F- in my book for the offseason.
Completely unacceptable to lose the face of the franchise and follow that up by losing your most coveted free agent to your biggest rival.
Horrible.

I, too, wonder how the other teams seem to come up with the money to get what they want but the Pistons always seem to be strapped.
Is it because the other teams do not mind paying a lux tax or is it some other rule that we cannot seem to get around??

Pat Riley has committed to not paying Lux Tax this year.
But I think he will indulge himself if he thinks it will win them another title.
Lazy, the problem is that the Pistons have not managed their money well this offseason. By losing all of their own free agents except Lindsey Hunter, they had to spend their shopping money on filling roster spots (Nazr Mohammed, Flip Murray) rather than adding talent.

I agree, Bonzi Wells, Al Harrington, Speedy Claxton, any one of these guys would have improved our bench over what we have now, maybe even cracked the starting lineup.
We could have did something to grab one of those guys.
