It seems that after one month of seeking mr Obradovic' research has come to an end. The 32 year old NBA veteran Tony Delk and the club's management reached a few hours ago at an oral agreement of cooperation and all that remains is Delk signing his n Expekt.com ew contract which is expected to bring him 1,8 million euros for one season.

Today, a Spin Barometer to keep and apply to what you hear about the Cavaliers next season.

Or how you'll know if hiring former Pistons broadcaster Fred McLeod as the team's new play-by-play voice was really done to manage the message so that never is heard another discouraging word:

If Detroit's Flip Murray scores over Damon Jones and it is called "a rare defensive hiccup by a guy who is to lock-down defense what The Club is to car security." Referring to Jones as a "fly-paper defender," or "Dennis Rodman Redux" should also trigger the credibility alarm.

Porter could become Pistons assistant soon (http://www.mlive.com/pistons/stories/index.ssf?/base/sports-1/115499221798590.xml&coll=1)
Tuesday, August 08, 2006

Terry Porter, whose involvement in the pursuit of buying the Portland Trail Blazers ended last week, is expected to be named a Detroit Pistons assistant coach as early as today.

Porter, who played three seasons (1995-1998) in Minnesota for current Pistons head coach Flip Saunders, was part of a group of investors interested in purchasing the Trail Blazers. That was before Portland owner Paul Allen announced last week that he was no longer trying to sell the team.

Porter would fill the void left by the departure of Sidney Lowe, the former assistant who became the head coach at his alma mater, North Carolina State University after last season.

First, it was Michael Reghi. Now, Ronnie Duncan.

Who's next to get the ax from Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert?

Duncan's contract wasn't renewed yesterday by the Cavaliers for his position as public-address announcer. It came days after the team fired Reghi, a popular play-by-play television broadcaster.

''Me, I can understand,'' Duncan said. ''But for the life of me, I can't understand (firing) Reghi. He was unique. He was different. He was hip enough for the hip-hop generation. He had a solid command of the English language.''

New changes bring up brand new questions (http://www.bellevilleview.com/stories/081706/spo_20060817007.shtml)

For the first time in several years, the Detroit Pistons have made significant changes during the NBA's off season.

Therefore, this season will be the first time the Pistons will have a new look on the court, since they traded for Rasheed Wallace.

Other things have a different feel as well, like in the front office. Pistons President and general manager, Joe Dumars seems to be answering more questions about his transactions then he has had to in the past. As always time will tell if this was a good off season or not. Many people in the Pistons organization have said they think they can be a better team this season, then last. However, the Detroit Pistons will not have a better team than last season; meaning they did not have a positive off season.

Chris Acker, older brother of Detroit Pistons rookie Alex Acker, recently signed with the ABA's Pittsburgh Xplosion. (http://www6.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3266405) Chris Acker played his college ball at Chaminade in Hawaii, and spent some time with the ABA's Detroit Wheels earlier this season. He made quite an impression in his Pittsburgh debut, exploding (or is it "xploding") for 27 points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many people probably do not even recognize the name Earl Lloyd. But unlike the well-recognized Jackie Robinson, who broke baseball's color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Lloyd never became a household name.
But the Alexandria native is one of the key athletic figures in our time because of the social implications he had in the National Basketball Association and for the grace and class in which he accepted his role as a barrier breaker.
Lloyd attended school at Parker Gray in Alexandria and was the first African-American to break the color barrier in the NBA. He did so on Oct. 31, 1950. He spent nine years in the NBA and was a member of the NBA champion Syracuse Nationals team in the 1954-55 season. He concluded his playing career with the Detroit Pistons in 1960, and eventually became the Pistons' head coach — the second African-American to ever be named a head coach in the league (http://www.connectionnewspapers.com/article.asp?article=70093).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At 68, Adubato enjoys coaching and teaching -- he spent 18 seasons as a high school and college coach in New Jersey before getting his first NBA job -- and he likes the lifestyle of the WNBA. The league's short season allows him to spend most of the year at home in Orlando, Fla.
"I could have gone back [to the NBA as an assistant], but I wanted to watch my 15-year-old son play in high school," says Adubato, who got his first NBA coaching job as an assistant to Dick Vitale with the Detroit Pistons (http://www.washtimes.com/sports/20060818-122730-1464r.htm). "This gives me all the time in the world to do it. I still enjoy coaching. This is fun. It is a great challenge. It is four months. It is not 11 months. Thirty-four games plus the playoffs -- that's a piece of cake."

Ronnie Carlwell's unselfishness, hard work and overall zest for life has earned him the 2006 Will Robinson Endowed Scholarship at Illinois State, marking the first repeat honoree in the history of the award.

The scholarship honors Robinson, the Redbird basketball coach from 1970 to 1975. He was the first African-American Division I college head basketball coach to serve at a predominantly white university. Robinson has served as a high school coach, college coach and NBA administrator over the past seven decades. A 2003 Missouri Valley Conference Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Robinson worked in the Detroit Pistons' front office for nearly 30 years after leaving Illinois State (http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/stories/081806aal.html).

Even years after his retirement as the worst of all the Detroit "Bad Boys,'' Bill Laimbeer still inspires a special kind of hatred. NBA RUMOR MILL - 30 Teams Ready For Camp? (http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_18599.shtml)
