The Forum must act swiftly to deal with the murderer responsible for Roscoe36's demise. Decide who the group will hang. Hanging will be executed Saturday night/ Sunday Morning

Alright. I know I'm gonna get blamed for this, because I get blamed for everything, but I didn't do it.

(1) I planned to knock off Linwood first.

(2) I wouldn't kill roscoe yet because he is sending me a tee shirt in the mail and I'd keep him alive until I get it.:D

But I've already got a gut on the murderer. The murderer is bright. They know roscoe knows the forum and posters like the back of his hand. He would have pointed the finger quickly and solved the crime. The perfect person to murder quickly was roscoe. Was it perhaps somebody who was jealous and wants to take over the forum? ***gazes suspiciously at The Low***:spy:

Oh yeah, :rip: roscoe.

I didn't see any posts within 24 hours with his name in it. Did anyone see any?

Slippy, I told ya I wasn't getting killed first!!!! :P

Are you kidding me??? Do you have any idea what that guy has to do to keep this place running efficiently....I wouldn't wish that one someone I didn't like....let alone Mr. 36 who I love like a bro.

You know, it IS possible seeing how much you like to stand on top of buildings with tequila and pistols screaming at the planet.

Besides, the dead shouldn't be talking...I'm scared.:scared:

I'm waiting to see if anyone has seen something I didn't.

Right now I suspect The Low. I think Slippy wanted a staff member as the first killer so things don't get messed up in the first game. I think you would be too obvious as a killer, but Low killed you because he didn't want to take out a regular member first. Plus he figured you would nail him.

But I don't want to waste my vote and hang an innocent if more info points the blame elsewhere and Low is indeed innocent.

I don't think non-participants votes count. Maybe the viewers aren't in the game?

I'd like to hang Linwood just on principal, but I don't think he did it. It's hard to say. You were a likely victim. Everyone knows you and would feel comfortable taking you out, lol.

Don't worry Roscoe. I'll avenge your death IF I don't get hanged first! Whats it like in the after life? Do you have 24 hour Pistons games with VJ hitting unbelievable last second game winners?

Or did you go to the "other place" where Lee357 is doing the color commentary on the games and Darko and Rodney White are starters???

I'm trying very hard to figure this thing out. I can't vote on the jury yet, beacuse I am still reading the rules on this one.

Is there a coroner? Can I get an approximate time of death? Was the crime scene contaminated with milk, butter, salt, and or chives?

I agree that the murderer did a very nice job in taking old number 36 our first. I believe he would have solved the case in minutes. So... we have a very observant killer on our hands. Maybe someone with hundreds of EYES  (that was such a bad potato joke. I'm truly ashamed of myself)

Probably most of the viewers, like me, are just now figuring out what the "Murder....com (Murder@PF.com)" thread was all about. I didn't look at that thread until I started trying to figure out what this poll was all about. Maybe if Slippys thread was called "Who wants to play a Murder Mystery game" you would have gotten more participants.

Oh yeah, :rip: roscoe.

I didn't see any posts within 24 hours with his name in it. Did anyone see any?

Negatory, my dear Watson. :nono: I did not see any posts with roscoe's name 24 hours previous to the post (Thursday, 8/17 11:48 pm) from Slippy announcing the untimely demise of Roscoe36.

:spy: The timeline is the crux of the case. I don't see anywhere in the rules in the thread Murder@PF.com where the murderer needs to have posted the hidden taunting boastful message, with name of victim and basketball keyword less than 24 hours previous to the announcement of said murder.

The incriminating post is probably farther back than that, due to Slippy seemingly having somewhat of a "soft on murderers" policy making more red tape for our lynch mob of detectives.

We will be giving the murderer 2 days (instead of one) to select a victim so that its not so obvious by looking at post traffic.

Is there a coroner? Can I get an approximate time of death?

The body of one Roscoe36 was found early this morning...

Thursday, 8/17 early am. This is all we know. How long did Roscoe36 lie dead next to the new server? Not to be indelicate, but how long did he suffer before he left us for the afterlife? Unfortunately we do not have a CSI team in place yet. I think we need to consider our time of murder, death and daring post by the murderer as 12-48 hours previous to early am Thurs, 8/17. :frusty:

A moment for eulogy, please::pray: Roscoe36 died as he lived, devotedly working on his tribute for his oft declared love, the Detroit Pistons. His legacy, PistonsForum.com, will live on, though perhaps may not thrive, without him. May we all be so fortunate in our moment of death as to be indulging in our passion (?! get your minds out of the gutter, it's a eulogy for crying out loud!) Too bad he was gruesomely felled by a supposed forum friend who probably had a secret agenda all along. :suspiciou :tsk:

Is there a reward, Slippy? :fingerscr Will I get police protection if I find the murderer before this becomes a serial murderer case? What if this fiend already suspects I know, and makes me his next victim? :fear: Is there a witness protection program here at PF.com in place yet?

P.S. Roscoe, if you can hear me in Pistons heaven, where Pistons, past and present, are always playing "no free chili" Bad Boys basketball and legions of angels are chanting DEETROIT BAAASKETBAAALL, I just want to tell you that the Bill Laimbeer video changed my life and kept me a Pistons Fan in the darkest of offseasons.:hail:

Funny post Aurora.

But now I suspect you because you are "justifying"/explaining away why the murderer (Murderess?) didn't use Roscoes name the other day. However, I do see a post where YOU used his name on the 15th.

Hmmmm...the plot thickens.

I better figure it out quick. I'll be hung Saturday if TFD has his way!

Well, this is just the Wild Wild West around here. I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that I am a prime suspect. Anyone could see that my post to roscoe was pure business, about videos he removed before their appointed time.

After preliminary investigation, I am now focusing on two suspects: The Low and even more ominously, the Professor.

I shall cite my painstaking evidence at midnight or whenever the new server is up, whichever comes first.

I am appalled at your lack of clearmindedness, linwood. You never know someone until they accuse you of a heinous crime!

I'm innocent I tell you, innocent!

As for my apparent silence, 99% of my posts come at night and since I didn't get home from work today until about 7:30 and the server was down, this is my first chance to defend myself!

I haven't voted in the poll just yet because I wanted to do some CSI type investigating first. But I was thinking along the same lines as a couple of you, in that I felt that the first killer would be a staff member to help ease into the game.

Also, going into the game, I didn't think I'd be chosen as the first killer, since slippy had used me in his example.
PLUS, we Canadians are lovers not fighters! :canada:

08-18-2006, 11:11 PM
OK Jammer. You were a distant 3rd on my suspect list, but you are off it now. I can't see any words in your post that could be a key word.

Aurora, I was leaning toward you big time, but I don't see a keyword in your post either (although I could see you distracting Roscoe with your feminine charms and then crushing his skull with a computer monitor).

Low, if the keyword is "jumpers" you are the killer. But...your response was a natural one to Roscoes comments.

Prof...is the keyword "offense" or "defensive"? if so, you could be dirty.

This is a toughie.

I have 3 suspects and each has a reason for wanting Roscoe offed.

They are (in no particular order):

The Low
- he mentioned Roscoe in 3 seperate posts in the past few days, the last of which contained several basketball related terms containing the letter "e".

Motive - Roscoe hits a "sour note"?

Incriminating evidence - the use of "jumper", "attitude" and "outscored" in his Aug 1th post replying to Roscoe

Aurorakmw
- several mentions of Roscoe recently, but none in the past 2 days.

Motive - bitter over the permenant deletion of forum vids.

Incriminating evidence - Wishing Roscoe "God Speed" earlier today... AFTER his death! Hmmm

The professor
- very suspicious post in the Pluto thread around the time of the murder. Has been suspiciously quiet since then.

Motive - Roscoe posed the biggest threat to his murderous ways. So the PROFESSOR used intellect - getting rid of the strongest link - in choosing his first victim.

Incriminating evidence - suspicious basketball analagies planted in his post about Pluto - possibly to disguise the key word? - around the time of the murder.

I'll leave you to ponder this evidence and will return with my final determination shortly...

I don't want it to be you Low. I really don't. And truth be told, I think "jumpers" is kind of a lame basketball word, but I'll need you to come in for questioning anyway. Please cooperate fully. I agree Aurora. One of those two did it, and I think it was the Low.

Low, how can you think I did it when there was no evidence (i.e. I left no posts with Roscoe's name in it)? That was what made me remove any lingering doubt it must be you. You must want me out of the way.

On the other hand, Prof either really believes it is Aurora or he wants her out of the way also.

Both cannot be killers, and since I left no evidence, you cannot believe I really did it. Therefore you are the killer and Prof must erroneously believe Aurora is guilty.

Professor, I accuse you of the evil deed. I do not feel the evidence is very strong, and I almost chose The Low. You have only one post where you use the victim roscoe's name and have key basketball words of "offense" and "defensive."

The Low had three posts, all in the same thread however, where he used roscoe's name and the key basketball word of "jumpers" in two of them.

My head tells me that the murderer is The Low, but my gut tells me it's you. Your most recent attempt to further incriminate me by character assassination instead of sticking to the evidence is telling. So I chose you.

Also, I think that the keyword "jumpers" is really lame and probably not a basketball keyword.

I sure hope The Low isn't going to get away with murder. Professor, if I am wrong and you hang...the justice system in this game needs to be overhauled. An innocent man should not die over planet/basketball analogies. Evidentiary procedure will be reviewed I am sure (it's the first round, after all).

Now only dlev59 and warthog are left to decide our and The Low's fate.

Ok I have not yet weighed in on who comitted this heinous crime. Without a prolonged closing arguement I am saying the Professor did it.

I don`t quite understand the game yet but because the Prof posts are so deep anyway, he must have posted something that incriminates himself, I just don`t know which post or when.

The Professor, Guilty!!!!!!!

Oh oh. Prof just said in a "Tigers" thread that I pointed out something to him in another thread. I have to say that it wasn't me who pointed it out.

Is he setting me up as his next victim if neither of us is hanged.

I thought I'd better say something before he does it...I may be dead soon. Hopefully this keeps me alive.

Wait...I don't see a keyword in the post. Maybe I'm noid?

Seriously, Slippy I think you have to hold off any decisions until you ascertain Dlev's actual intent of vote. His post was pretty clear.

Darth, you might be a little noid. But given that there was NO evidence against you at all, and you might be hanged by a jury of your peers...maybe not too noid.:ohwell:

tater, i thought it was you, honest. i had asked if baseball players could actually run out of gas during the season. and you (or someone else, I guess) said that pitchers do.

anyway, i think aurora is right. dlev sure sounded like he wanted to vote for me. i mean, i didn't do it (as y'all will find out when i am hanged and the slaughter continues), but shouldn't he get to vote?

this is so funny because obviously everyone is going to say they didn't do it, and everyone really means it (except obviously for one person). what a funny, maddening game!

good idea to start it you guys. and, if i am hanged, i just want to say: "forgive them, for they know not what they do"

The noose swayed lazily in the breeze as the mob marched up to the hewn planks that carried swift justice and dropped even swifter revenge. One of them would answer for the crime committed a few days ago. Roscoe was more than a member. He was a vital organ to the forum organism. A cancer had come to deal its deadly hand. It had to be cut out.
AuroraKMW stood defiant as the rope was fitted about her neck. "Death will not end with me. Remember that. Especially you, Dlev. Thanks for voting on time."

Dlev59 shrugged but said nothing.

In moments it was over. Roscoe was avenged. The group was safe again.

Yeah, somehow the prospect of a murderer areound every corner makes it harder to doze off!

Besides, it's two hours earlier in Idaho than in Meeechigan. Actually, I figured I could sleep in since I expected to "wake up dead" (apologies to Yogi Bera).

Jammer: Nah, you are innocent. But the REAL killer will blame you. I'm almost certain he is "shtill lurking about" (apologies to Daffy duck...I doubt anyone knows what I mean on this one unless you saw a particular classic episode).

Aurora: If I live to the end of this round I may vote to hang Dlev just to avenge your innocent soul. However, The Low is still my number one suspect. Nobody else could have done this dastardly act and watched you hang for his deed. Your detective work will be missed, but he will pay for his crimes.

Linwood & Prof: "Shame! Shame! Shame"! (With apologies to Gomer Pyle). How could you hang that innocent girl? I expect you two to do triple time to make up for the loss of detective work we suffered due to losing Aurora. And you call yourselves detectives? Oh, the Shame!!!

Slippy: "For the last time clean your damned room"!!! (with apologies to Slippy's mom). This place used to be a safe haven to relax. Now, it is the murder capital of cyber space. Thanks a lot!

OK, I gotta work all morning (but I'll try to sneak some peeks) then I'm going fishing probably, so I may be dead by the time I return to the forum. So here is my suspect list in order of suspicion before I die:

(1) The Low...strong number one. Evil Evil Evil...and BITTER.

(2) Prof...This dude is one tricky cat. Put nothing past him.

(3) Jammer...Still possible he pulled offt he crime of the century. I always say "if you can't blame it on the black guy (with apologies to the Low), blame it on the Cannuck!

(4) Dlev...odd how he didn't vote. Hmmmmm....

(5) Linwood...99 percent chance he is innocent, but wouldn't it be fun to watch him hang? Come on, you know you wanna!

You can bet your sweet bippy Aurora was innocent.

I think the real killer can't move because the other players aren't posting enough and the killer (you or Low) would be too easily found.

This round was basically a trial, so we will need to tweak the rules a bit for next time.

Every day my wife (Mrs. Potato head) asks me, "so are you dead yet?"
I'm like ":noidea:" She wants to collect on the insurance policy already.

No. She was wrongly accused. The murderer is still at large. This is the same game, but a new round. It doesn't end until we get the right killer. The same person that killed Roscoe killed the Prof. That's why Scoe and Aurora can't play. They are dead. So I think it is Low, but Linwood looks very suspicious.

Because it was a 3 way tie. Only one person gets hanged so Slippy flipped a coin. Aurora lost.

Ironically, Prof is also dead now. It really was a surprise that he was killed because lots of people were looking his way, so why would the killer not kill him or I???? Very tricky and baffling.

So all three people in the flip were innocent (unless you believe I'm guilty).
Once again a " FLIP" messes up Pistons fans. If it's not Saunders it's a coin.

So now you gotta vote in the prof thread on who you think did it.

They weren't hung basically because Slippy the Game Manager broke the three way tie with a three way coin toss. Which I lost. :hurt: I sure wish I could help get the killer but now that Prof and I are dead, we can't help bring the killer to justice by trying to solve the case. Because we are dead. We can however speak from the afterlife about the game, if that makes any sense.
