Piston Passing Science alone could beat these guys. But if they think anyone will stand around on their own court and let us have our way, will get beat.
Pistons 90
Sonics 80

There must be some kind of way out of here
Said the Gangsta to Joe D.
There’s too much confusion
I can’t get no relief
Starters they play my time
Mo Evans dribble makes me hurt
None will develop my mind
Nobody of it is worth
Hey hey

No reason to get excited
The Prince he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that Allen is but a joke but uh
But you and I we’ve been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us not call paint plays now
Shot clock’s getting late
Hey

Hey

All along the frontcourt
Wallace kept the view
While all the Sonics came and went
Weak game rookies too, but huh
Outside in the cold distance
Larry Brown did growl
Two guards were approachin’
And the wind began to howl
Hey
Oh
All along the backcourt
Dropping dimes and treys like Nash
Gotta beware gotta beware we will
Yeah
Ooh baby
All along the backcourt

Night time is the right time for game time once again on the west side. Pistons are treading water of losing two games in a row again, only once it has happen and I don't think it will happen again. Seattle is a perimeter team like the Pistons are. The only diference between the Pistons and Seattle is that Detroit can mix it up down low if they want.

The last loss was about bounds and energy, and if that happens again than the Pistons are in for a long night. Stop Allen and Lewis and the game is won don't let a role player have a career night and the Pistons should get this. They have to win to keep a 2 game lead and control their own destiny for HCA.

My prediction for tonight Detroit wins a fun up and down game 98-89.

At what point can we start worrying about the excessive 3 point attempts? Or can we chalk that up to the Pistons taking things easy during the regular season? Sheed is the prime culprit. He shoots them even when the points are critical i.e. a 2 would just as well and without using the shot clock to see if a better opportunity may be available.

Rip was clutch tonight!

Sheed was chuckin, but he was making up for it on the other end. And I need to give him credit for those big momentum changing throw downs.

Good thing they found the real hot hand at the end though.

We definitely need to buckle down low when it is crunch time and take the three only when the hand is hot! The slams by Sheed down low were more of a back breaker than the threes (4-13)??? Some body has to stop passing him the rock.... Every long missed three is rebound for the opposing team and they got us by 15 in that category>ouch! The late jumpers by Rip were clutch as we went away from the Sheenanigans!

Good to see Delk get some minutes, but where was Delfino? Already in LA warming up? We will definitely need him tomorrow, as four of the staters played 39+ minutes. Prince hit some shots, but 1 rebound and no trips to the FT line? Speaking of the FT line> Ben 1-8??? Does he ever practice or does he just like embarrassing himself. Some of the shots are wide left and some don't even make it to the rim:frusty:

Yeah, Ben's FT's are getting downright embarrassing. No excuse for him not to be able to hit 1 of 2 fairly consistently. How can he air ball so many times? Is it a lack of focus or technique? He looked much better at the start of the season.

He's all wrist flick. He needs to provide some lift with his legs and shooting arm. He's a stubborn man. Part of Shaq's problem is that his hands are so big, that it is like a normal person shooting a baseball. But Ben doesn't have that problem. He should be able to improve.

I bet he shoots 60% in practice when he's not winded.

Ben is around 90% in pre-game warmups. Just one of those things where you have to do it in the game and think too much.

I was not happy with the way they played at all. Props to Rip for hitting shots when it counted, but it shouldn't have come to that. The perimeter guys need to start doing some of the dirty work, and Chauncey/Sheed need to do something about their shot selection.

wins like that ain't no good. Close, got outrebounded again- by a team that is not known for being dominant on the boards.
Makes our record look better than we are playing and gives Flip the feeling as if everything would be ok- but it surely isn't, that's obvious.

The crazy thing is, even with Sheed chucking, he finished with a double double. It's absolutely how scary good he could be when he is "ON".

30 + 14? We know it is possible.

How did we not lose that game?

On the road, we did the following:

1) Allowed Seattle to shoot 49%, including over 50% (with 27 points) in the final quarter
2) Were outrebounded 48-30
3) Missed 10 of our 23 FTs
4) Shot way too many threes, especially down the stretch

That may work against Seattle, but in the postseason we'll need to do better.

That shot by Rip was huge.

If we can beat LA tonite, I think we'll be ok down the stretch. Fatigue will be less of a factor, because we have a few days off and then an average of about a game every two days. Additionally, the majority (13 of 23) will be at home, including 9 of the last 14. I think that should allow us to get up a head of steam, as well as get the starters some rest because Flip will probably be more comfortable playing the bench when we're at home.

i'm hoping the rebound problem is because of rest. the jmpers might be too because we're too tired to bang in the paint. this was our 7th game in 11.

No, it's because the perimeter guys are leaking up on the break. Even in crunch time Rip did it, and it burned us (he rolled out toward halfcourt after challenging Ray Allen's shot just to look back and see him toss in an easy offensive board). Those types of things will cost us games in the playoffs. If both of our bigs are in double figures rebounding, then there is no reason to get outrebounded. I don't know if it's Flip's gameplan, or if he just isn't getting on them about it, but it's getting ridiculous. There is no reason why Chauncey, Rip, and Tayshaun should combine for 3 rebounds while playing about 40 minutes each.
