Anyone already drafted yet? I just got mine and I'm excited about the team I put together. I missed my draft but my preranking did a good job.

PG: D. Stoudamire
SG: Josh Smith
G.: Josh Howard
SF: Lebron James
PF: Tim Thomas
F: R Jefferson
C: Ben Wallace
C: Yao Ming
Util: T. Chandler
Util: D. Wesley
Bench: C. Mihm
Bench: Mike James
Bench: T. Lue

And my recent additions:
• Waiver 1: T. Lue for S. Telfair pending until Oct 6
• Waiver 2: D. Wesley for B. Wells pending until Oct 6
• Waiver 3: M. James for S. Livingston pending until Oct 6
• Waiver 4: C. Mihm for N. Krstic pending until Oct 6

I think I'm gonna have a power house of a team this year.

Pretty good...

Except...I would be suprised if you actually picked up all of those players off wires. Livingston, Wells and Krstic should be coveted pickups by many. My suggestion would be to make sure you put the player you covet most as the first waiver position as their is a priority system as it relates to picking up guys.

Oh, and I dunno about that Tim Thomas pick...I'm sure you can do better than that. :)

I'm the same way. All things being equal, I always put a premium on guys that are available for multiple positions. G/F are my favourite in Yahoo because they can play so many different positions.

That's a pretty sweet team, but I'd get rid of Cassell...Posey's probably not gonna get a lot of touches neither...I'd try to find someone who thinks the Heat's gonna be full of power houses and package them both (or throw in Pryzbilla or Kaman) for a better PG or SF. Knight and Jaric should be enough assist to keep you going.

Well, I got Cassell and Posey for next to nothing so I'm hoping they might be sleepers. Cassell is definitely going to get some run this year...I'm crossing my fingers that he starts off hot so I can possibly upgrade with a trade later. Posey is a question mark too but if he stays healthy and gets some burn I have a stat monster on my hands.

I dont have mcdyess but I was wondering why yahoo only lists him as a pf when he subs for both c and pf. it would seem to me that he plays both. yahoo just dont get it or something. anybody else see any players that dont get credit for playing other positions ? doesnt oneil play some center as well??

Yahoo updates the positions throughtout the year based on performance/trends of lineups. They did the same thing for Amare. I expect them to do the same for Dwight Howard this year.

Not bad. You have some field goal pct. killers on your team though. Parker, Griffin and Barry will shoot you into oblivion. Parker has never translated well as a fantasy player. Griffin is too inconsitent but good in blocks. ..and Barry has vanished as a fantasy b-ball contributer since leaving Seattle. He simply just does not get the minutes or put up the stats he used to when he was a monster in assists, field goal pct., free throw pct., 3 point shots and low turnover ratio.

Great job with Kaman and Deng...they are great sleeper picks that most people have neglected in their draft. You will love Brad Miller on your team...he does SO much (rebounds, assists, free throws, field goal pct, low turnovers, points)!

I had dyess last year and they never updated it. I had Oneil as well and he was only a pf. I get why they have the positions that way you couldnt run all pgs and sgs (why somone would do that is beyond me but) but they dont give the benifit of the doubt on a big man like they do with guards (most of the guards can play all 3 guard positions not all but most) plus the fact that there just are not that any centers period you would think they would let you get away with it but sigh its not a perfect world.

I think thats one of the reasons they have the Utility spots.

The center position was played primarily by Harrison and Foster last year for Indiana, but I do see your point. Some of their classifications for players are a tad bit ridiculous and it does seem that they are slow to update positon changes. The PF/C thing seems to always be an issue.

Just shows that Dave is a smart drafter and has the inside optimism on a great season for Sheed under Flip.

Fantasy bball is not partisan. The moment you get focused on drafting your favorite Pistons is when you lose. Pistons generally are poor fantasy performers. This year may be different although reduced minutes could negate the individual numbers.

He is pretty good for fantasy bball. He gives you Rebs, blocks and 3's. Maybe under Flip he can get some assists too. Plus, he was a pretty good value late in the 5th round. I did take him over K-Mart and C-Webb so it was a bit of a slappy pick.

Nice squad!

Your team is very balanced. Your centers, shooting guards and forwards will all contribute in the assist area for you. I think you will suprise some guard heavy teams in regards to assists as alot of fantasy team owners don't normally expect to see that much imact from any positon other than point guard. All of your players should perform well. Your only weaknesses appear to be in shot blocking and turnovers. You will probably be in the middle of the pack as it relates to free throws, 3 point shots and field goal percentage. Strong areas for you team will most likely be points, assists and steals.

I picked Voshon Lenard late in my Draft, but I am thinking of picking up JR Smith or possibly James Posey off of waivers. Who would be the best option? I already have plenty of 3-pt shooting (Iverson, Joe Johnson, QRich, Marshall, Hinrich), which is Lenards specialty.

Okay, I think it is safe to say, based on your squad, that field goal pct. is not an area you are overly concerned about. :) ..so this makes picking up JR Smith a very attractive possiblity for you. I think he definitely has more scoring potential than Posey.

Now, if you think you are sitting pretty with scoring....purely based on upside, I would pick up James Posey as he is the most well-rounded of the two and he will give you more rebounding, cut turnovers/poor field goal pct. down a bit and also give you some three point shooting. Posey is a bit of an enigma though because we don't know how much time he is going to get in Miami.

If I had to guess, I would say that JR. Smith is probably the direction you want to go in.

J.R Smith will most assuredly start. Once he puts up a 20 point game he will be one of the first players to go in free-agency as 20 point scorers are a commodity. He will also contribute to your steals column which is another important statistical category for your team.

Thanks! I won't be facing you any time because I'm not in the same league as you. I think they factor in injuries too so I might trade Grant Hill. Ive got a tough first game though the guy has: Baron Davis, Raymond Felton, Shaun Livingston, Larry Hughes, Shaq, Shawn Marion, Darius Miles, Cuttino Mobely, Morris Peterson, Keith Vanhorn, Chris Webber, and Derron Williams. Lucky for me that Chris Webber isn't as good as he used to be.
