Well, I just realized that the Pastor did not set his lineups all week, so he won TO.
I don't like it when people quit. That SUCKS.
I was wondering about that. He has been falling like a rock lately. Should not factor in though as Dre seems to have the last playoff spot secured.

Pastor was in the running for the last playoff spot. He bailed while he was still in it. If he doesn't set his line-up this week, he may just hand me the regular season crown, and the first seed in the playoffs. This would change all the playoff match-ups. MP and I might actually meet pre-finals. So Pastor's absence really does matter.

For the record:
I don't know what is going on in Pastor's particular case. Maybe he has a really good reason for not being around. Maybe not.
My comment was directed toward people who quit, in general.
Perhaps Motown can set his lineups for this week?
After that. Personally I do not really care what happends in the bottom tier playoffs so its up to you guys?

Mo? No way, Jose. There's no way to fairly manipulate Pastor's line-up, so better not to mess. At least that's what I (who has no stake whatsoever in the matter) have to say.

MMJD, you are an emotional fantasy roller coaster.
One day you are on top of the world.
The next day, you slit your wrists in #1's bathtub.
A few weeks later, you're talking about the top seed.
And now you are getting paranoid about Mo's integrity.
Trust me, Motown has tons of integrity. It's his fantasy GM skills that are suspect. If anything, he will probably help you by setting Pastor's lineups. :pound:

Micro, you just haven't figured out when I'm being serious and when I'm not. If you knew that then you'd see that it all makes sense. Sometime's I'm playing head-games, sometimes I'm not, but all put together it sums to a grand, unified plan, that is so devious and ingenious, that even I don't understand it most of the time.
In all seriousness, or maybe not, in the interest of fairness, Mo should set the line-up for Pastor. It wouldn't be fair if I took the regular season title that way. Pastor hasn't set his schedule for a couple weeks now. Other than Winless taking advantage (and keeping quiet about it!) a couple weeks back, it doesn't seem to have affected the playoffs too much. Just over-inflated the egos of some of our bottom-dwellers, that's all.
I did not intend to insinuate that Mo is not trustworthy. We all know just how trustworhty he is, without me having to say it out loud!

What's really not fair, is that Webz and I never met a second time in the regular season, for all the marbles. That woulda been awesome. Actually, since we both will have next week off, should we keep track of who would've won it all had we played? Not that hard to do. Of course your team was otherwordly last week (seconded by mine) and you would've won pretty easily. But still, I guess we might meet in the finals. But the Yahoo finals is pretty much hocus, and I think that winning the regular season, sustained excellence, is much more difficult and a better goal.

PISTONSFORUM.COM MYSTERY! Interestingly, in the last 3 weeks, Pastor has gone 7-19 and Drebabys 18-9. Hence, 3 weeks ago, just about when Pastor dialed off, he was actually in playoff position. Curiouser and curiouser. Anyone want to make a visit to his pad to make sure allswell?

Actually my so called success (18-9) is based on some late season aquisitions of also rans in Rudy Gay, Eddie Jones, Nene and Andre Bargnani. They really have come thru in the last 3-4 weeks. I am only running with 2 centers and hope that they get me in and provide stability thru the playoffs.
On a serious note, I agree with MMJoe about wondering if the Pastor is OK. Doesn't appear that he has logged onto the forum since 2/28. He lives in KC..we got anybody that can track him down

yeah a second matchup would have been sweet, but hopefully that may come in the playoffs. but i agree that regular season crown is just as important if not more so to me, than playoff win. i don't need to remind anyone that i went undefeated in novice last year (my first fantasy season) only to lose in the final to tater after half my squad sat out the final week.

My season is over. My team is no longer competitive. I probably will get smashed by whoever I face. I will still try to muster some fight but I think the writing is on the wall.
My key mistakes were dropping an injured Rashard Lewis thinking he would be out until March and not be 100% when he returned and trading Udonis Haslem for Jamal Crawford who broke his ankle and is now out for the year.
My last bone headed mistake cutting David Lee this week. The same day I cut him he starts back playing again. For weeks this guy has been racking up DNP's and no news of him practicing or anything then all of a sudden he just starts playing. Oh well, I still have a good team in the Open League and with the 1st seed I should make a deep run.
Better Luck next year

Another year, another last minute battle with #1 to get to the finals. Last year, we came down 5-4 on the final day, and he won it by one or two 3 pointers, as his guys shot uncharacteristically well from 3 and my guys uncharacteristically poorly.
With injuries completely decimating my team lately, I had to go out on a limb this week. I want to thank all the guys who led me to a 2nd place regular season finish who I had to drop this week(damn I wish I coulda played Webz one more time for the regular season title!). I threw 57 games at #1 this week, compared to his 42, and it may pay off.
#1 is a damn good fantasy manager (best I've seen in fact, based on two years of experience), and I can't tell you how good it will feel if I can sneak past him into the finals, especially after he robbed me last year.
Good luck today, #1.

Wow. One BL and one 3Pt. One could really develop a psychosis after losing like this two years in a row. Actually, I feel pretty good right now. Think I proved my mettle, taking the best to the ropes, to the absolute edge. Hopefully made you sweat a little yesterday. In the end, too many injuries to key players did me in. Losing MMiller, Al Jeff and BROY in the last couple of weeks was a killer. The team I drafted, plus a few key pick-ups had enough talent to take #1 on straight, but I just couldn't keep them on the court.
All in all, a solid campaign for FD. Will be back next year, looking for a little revenge. Good luck to #1 and Dreb's in the finals.
Kinda relieved that fantasy ball is over, and ready for Pistons playoff basketball!
Congrats Dre. You had the better team this week. There are always excuses to make, but that's just part of the game. I'm satisfied with the regular season crown, but still disappointed to not make the final.
I'll just have to focus on my sleepers who knocked off no.1 seed micro to make the final.

Thanks for the battle Webz. It was close and my slim 5-4 lead held up the whole weekend. I panicked mid week, when Tmac and Ty Chandler and even old reliable Desmond Mason all went down with injuries.
All three missed two games and even though Tmac was available yesterday, I deactivated him two minutes prior to the game thinking that he would shoot 10-for 30 to help the Rockets end their losing streak and you would squeeze out a 5-4 victory over me because of my slim lead in the FG percentage which was ony 12 pts to begin the day. Plus it didn't help matters that Labron started off the day going 5-16. Well as it turns out Tmac went 14-28, so I would have been oK whether he played or not.
Hopefully my boys can put it together this week and knock off the defending champ #1:pray:

Congrats #1, unfortunately, I can't get beyond the my company's "fantasy blocked firewall" on my laptop to see the final results until return home tomorrow night, but I figured since you held the lead from day one>10 days ago, it would take a miracle finish to beat ya. In fact I thought it was over last Friday and was about to give up, but my guys put up good fight Monday and I think I had an outside shot of pulling it out tonight. As indicated I'm not sure how they did Tuesday or tonight.
I know TMac and Nene sat it out tonight, but at this point not sure if they had would have had enough assists or rebounds in them to grab those two categories. Your boys could really score, so I wasn't worried trying to comeback there and you only need 5 categories to win. My concern was the shooting% in both the FG and FT and if my team could shoot straight in the end. I have never made so many transactions in one week as I did last week to try to stay close to you.
Good game, lets do it again next year!!

#1 can be beaten and I'll be the one to do it. It won't require everyone jumping on him either, just a little bit more luck with health and some timely waiver pickups. I'm not worried. I experimented with two different strategies this year. One of my strategies netted me 3 championships this year, the other had me fall short twice. We'll be ready to rumble next year. :gun1:

So which of the two strategies will you be using? :nerd2::pound:
And after you stop #1, I'll be waiting to finish YOU off.

Man, it was close. You ended up taking the REB and AST categories of the past couple days and I barely came back and took the FT% cat.
A little bit of luck and a whole lot of skill. :cheerleader:
Just got back home and saw the final results. 5-4 !!!!dang if I had some better shooters on my team, I could have taken you. But you da man, good battle and congrats again on the back to back!
I am pinning this close loss on two players: my perennial allstar, La Bron James who's free throwing shooting for the week was 18-31 (58.6%) and probably caused me to lose the FT shooting category and then some scrub I picked up for one game named Craig Smith who shot 1-10 the night I had him, after shooting 14/22 the previous two games. Of course some of that blame can go to fantasy kings Kevin Martin and Charlie Bell who provided monster stats in most categories but shot just around 40% for the long week.
Despite what main man joe, Mo and Darth, winless, etc say, I will be there with them trying to detrone you too.

You're a good man Dre.
You can tell a lot about a man in how he handles defeat You're definitely a winner in my book. You lost, but with class and graciousness.
I'll almost regret beating the tar out of your team next year.

#1 is just the real deal. He is a good fantasy player. He is the bar and it is set high. lol...:pound: We all just need to come in next season and work harder to build more competitive teams and perhaps even learn from #1. He took a lot of risks and made good moves that paid off the second half of the season when it mattered.
Man the difference between him and me in the last two years is 2 3Pt shots and 1 block. That's right. 2 more 3Pt shots and 1 more BL, and you might be calling FD two time repeat champ. So somehow I've just got to figure out that little something something that will get me by him. No big changes, just a little more focus, energy. Next year he'll be so drunk on success, he won't even notice the rest of us passing him by.
But he is good...

Dude, you weren't even in the elite 4 this year. Something like 0-8 against the top 4 teams. You should worry about how ya gonna get in there next year. Leave the champ alone. He doesn't have time for you second tier guys.
Just a little pre-ramble for what you can expect next year, if you bring back that same lame stuff.

Champion of sixth place finishes. But really, it was fun sparing with you this year. Looking forward to next year, especially match-ups with MP, #1 and Webz (we have unfinished business).
Its been a good year.
Congrats to #1.
#1 won? Congradulations. I was not sure who was going to pull it out. He looked like the early favorite then kind of stalled right before the post-season.

1 PF.com championship (Open League) to your zero.
I will definitely enjoy teaching you want it takes to win the big one. Study up and perhaps you can join the champions circle one day. If you ask nicely maybe one of us champs will let you touch the championship ring for a quick second. But... only if you get on your knees and kiss it Godfather style. lol.

Common man, you can't claim superiority over me in an event I didn't even play in! I beat my 4-year old in Candyland yesterday, so I guess I'm a champion too. All I know is I didn't have to change my username to MAINMANMP for a week.
Now that you have been put in your place, lets end this idle chatter, because in the end we are all just carrying #1s jock.
Can't we just come together and route the Pistons on to a 2007 NBA Championship (and both admit that I am clearly a better fantasy baller than you)?
Peace (until we meet again next year).

Sorry, I didn't know that MP was incarcerated. If I had known that I wouldn't have been so hard on him. When do you get out? I'll have a restraining order ready for you man!

James is the ultimate building block, and the ultimate bargaining piece. If I had James, I’d be looking to land the best 2:1 deal I could get, especially if the rest of the team is somewhat mediocre. With Dreb’s the rest of the team is VERY mediocre, so James should be on his way out the door. The other premier player on the squad, McGrady, has proven to be unreliable in every way, up and down (statistically), in and out (of the line-up). Big dropoff after that. Terry, Gooden Shaq are solid 2nd tier players, but not spectacular. Pick-up of Martin for Knight was a move in the right direction, as he seems to be breaking out big-time. After these guys, the drop-off is immense. Boynkins, Livingston, Gay, Warrick, Turiaf (really?), Chandler, Thomas are borderline to even be on a fantasy roster. That’s a lot of mediocre. Last week Dreb’s was near the bottom in almost every category. I think that’s a trend you can bank on.
Strengths: don’t see many
Weaknesses: whole lot
Recommendations: 2:1 for James to get 2 solid fantasy contributors. Two guys in the 20-30 ranking range. Hope McGrady shows up.
Finish: Fighting to stay out of the basement.
Dre, I didn't follow all the progress you made this year, but clearly you didn't end up with the supporting cast I listed in the review. Must have filled in the holes admirably. One move I do remember is Kevin Martin for Brevin Knight. I think I deserve a lions share of the credit for your second place finish for that one. But clearly, you are a prime candidate for top dog. Having McGrady healthy for most of the season was a big part of it. Great work, man.

I actually kept Terry, Gooden, and Tyson Chandler along with Martin and King James for the whole season, so actually In could say that was my stating five with the other bench/intangibles being added in and out throughout the season. I even dropped Rudy Gay for 2 months only to pick in him up in March and he provided surprisingly good stats down the stretch before geeting injured.
Thanks for Martin and the props.
