The Detroit Red Wings plan to keep people waiting for them to announce who their captain will be now that Steve Yzerman has retired.
“We’re going to name a captain opening night,” Detroit coach Mike Babcock said Thursday before an exhibition game against Colorado.
The Red Wings open the season Oct. 5 at home against Vancouver.
Should be Lidstrom from what I've hear in the last month or so.
