“The Pistons really hated to play this team because they was a young scrappy team. They sorta played the way we played when we won a championship.”

I'm sure Chicago just LOVED playing Detroit.
Last year
Bullls Team: "No no...please don't make us go back in there, we'll get beat up"
Skiles: "Get back in there and fight, you friggin' cowards"!!!!
This year
Darth: STFU Ben. Maybe you hit your head and got amnesia or something on your flight out to Chicago. Bring it on "Fro" mouth. We got something for you.
I had to look this up.
Last year the Pistons won all 3 games. 110-82, 95-87 and 106-101.
Scoring did not seem to be much of a problem.

Yeah, if anything it looked like the Pistons enjoyed playing the Bulls. Especially Sheed. If I'm not mistaken, it was against the Bulls that Sheed just went off. Scoring at will, having fun. He even called glass on his shot as soon as it left his hands and was laughing and smiling up and down the court.

And it won`t be this year either, Ben or no Ben..........

Still, it will be kinda strange to see Ben wearing the #3 Bulls jersey- but given the fact he's on the decline he'll be remembered as a Piston.
Or does anyone think of the Hakeem that played for the Raptors? The Dominique Wilkins who played for the Spurs? The Rodman that played in the Lakers squad? Ewing in an Orlando jersey? Kemp with the Blazers? The Pippen that played for them? And so on...

I don`t think Ben is as far gone as the guys you mentioned. All those guys were pretty much done when they joined those teams.

Sometimes I wonder if the Bulls thought they were gonna stick it to the Pistons (financially) and it backfired.

I really don't think the Pistons will have any more trouble with the Bulls than they usually do. They might not win all the games, like last year, but will at least take the season series.

A better comparison is Rodman in a Bulls uniform. He joined them at age 34 and played three quality seasons. Ben turned 32 last month.

Ben is on the decline for sure, but he still has a lot of game left in him. He isn't a shadow of his former self like the other players mentioned.

I know this is just part of the hype of the game, and I love Ben and what he did for us, but it irks me nonetheless.
I know that Ben's statement probably does apply to two seasons ago, when we did have trouble against the Bulls. But I also seem to remember Tyson Chandler looking like an all-star inside in some of those losses. [insert catty emoticon]

I think Ben was like a silent protector... when he was pissed everyone on the court backed away... next time Sheed goes off on a rant... Zo might go up and say STFU whinny beotch... whatcha gon do?
We likely will miss Ben's intimidation, as discrete as it may have been.

I will miss how ben would get mad and next time the team would respond.

(ok, let's pretend for a second that the whole Palace riot thingee never happened, that it ended on the court where it started, minimal suspensions, yadda yadda)
I will also miss the intimidation, like for instance when he pushed Ron Artest in the neck to retaliate for a cheap shot and Ron Ron punked out and didn't fight back.
I mean, how insulting is that - - a big, ole two handed push to the neck! hee hee

I wonder if he likes playing the Pistons any better?

I don't know. The Pistons sure looked like they were enjoying themselves the last two games without Ben. :gun1: :hoops: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound: :pound:

Looks like Maxiell is the new intimidater. He'll just palm your head and throw you down if you don't watch out... won't even look back at cha.

Yeah, I totally agree. Big Ben's got nothing on JMax, the intimidator.
He's getting in a couple of good shots a game, on Deng's head and Hinrich's face. And those are just the ones the close-up cameras catch.
It's fun when posts come back from the dead and make no sense. :nerd2:

I love the JMax attitude...the one that stands out is when he hammered Deng and then shoved him as he walked away. Deng's facial expression was a mixture of rage and disbelief..."Did he really do what he just did?"
But, yeah it's very evident that the Pistons don't like playing the Bulls. They're such a scrappy and energetic team...yeah that's the ticket.
