The Canes got into a gigantic on-field brawl with Florida International in their game this past weekend. Helmets swinging around, dudes kicking each other, it was totally out of control. ESPN is reporting (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2627372) that almost 3 dozen players total, from both teams, have been suspended, although it looks like the suspensions are only for one game. Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio this morning also played a radio clip of Lamar Thomas, ex-Canes recevier (from the early '90s) and current broadcaster, talking smack about how they were going to beat up anyone who came into their house, etc. The Hurricanes, the Bengals, and the Pacers, all cut from the same cloth? :gun1:

There was one guy, flailing his helmet at other players, beating them down with it. I saw several guys trying to "ruck" with their cleats, similar to what that Titans player did in Dallas 2 weeks ago.

Very, very ugly.

The latest news (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2628493) is that Miami extended the suspension of the guy who was swinging his helmet around, to an "indefinite" suspension, and they're promising "further disciplinary measures" but haven't done anything yet. Of the 18 guys suspended by Fla. International, two of them have been kicked off the team, and the other 16 are now suspended indefinitely. Also, Lamar Thomas was fired from his announcing job for the comments he made during the fight.
