NBA.com GM Survey: 2006-07 Predictions (http://www.nba.com/preview2006/gmsurvey_predictions.html)

Well worth the read, make sure you click the FULL RESULTS links on the right hand side of the article. This is what the Professionals think.

Btw, Flip got bombed on the coach votes by GMs. Considering he's got one of the elite teams, its weird how he doesn't make any category even for honourable mention.

Intersting how all the GMs in the league still think Ben Wallace is the baddest mofo in the game. Too bad Detroit's management gave up on him.

Very interesting stuff. Thanks Roscoe.

Man, it was painful to see Big Ben on so many of those lists. He was looking really buff in a couple of those pics! He looks even more motivated than usual. Not a good sign.

Hey, Terry Porter got a small nod for assistant. Probably by the same guy who thinks Kobe will make a good head coach someday though.

thats cool. its interesting to look at the past surveys too. check this stat from 03-04. lazyberbs and bballjay will love this one...

Which head coach is the best at developing young players?
23.4% - Larry Brown (1st)
Next is 14%

What the? Also, it looks like Flip has some cred before he arrived in detroit. He received honorable mention for 'best coach' from that same year. Looks like his 1 year in detroit has damaged his rep somewhat.

That's because even though he squeezed out 64 victories, his methods of getting them, which included burning out the starters and not really knowing the identity and skills of his bench did not translate into the post season when we came up short and out witted and out matched against the superstars in King James, Wade and Shaq (and Riley and a rookie coach in Mike Brown)

The rift between he and the GM-loved-one Wallace probably hurt his cred too. In order to gain some of that back he will need to overcome adversity and show that the Pistons can adjust to the non defensive presence of Big Ben, win 55 games and at least get back to the finals. :fingerscr

Yup, works for me. I'll take playoff wins over preseason votes any day.

Why did Joe get such a bummer of a coach? Failed bid for KG?

Who here is a BIG fan of Flip?

In the big picture he received no damage at all. Just individual perspectives about facts that seemed to project value and many confuse this with moral worth. I will take the latter any day.

Two years ago I think everyone was picking Miami and Indy so take it for what it is. If you want to use it as another reason to slam Flip and pine for Ben.

Curious. Were you guys like this after G.Hill left? I was not on forums at the time.

In the rankings I assume all the 3.6% are GM's voting for their own teams. Who else would pick Philly, Seattle, BOS or Orlando.

Maybe it's a bad sign that Flip voted for Miami.

Did he?

God, I hope not. But he didn't vote for us right? Or else we would have 3.8% of the vote.
