1pm @ Ford Field
Both of these teams suck pretty bad, so this, in theory is a winnable game. However the Vikings have taken 15 of the last 17 matchups against the Lions. An 88% winning percentage against us.
Here are some game notes:

Anyone care to make a prediction on the result?

The game will come down to a Kitna fumble that gets ran back by a defensive lineman who runs it back 65 yards and scores the winning TD then needs to get strechered out of the endzone to get oxygen.:stirthepot:

No clue...but if we lose to the maligned Vikes it's over for all involved.
Don't know what happened to Vikes, they lost their D intensity. No consistent O players. I think Marcus Robinson scores, he better, I'll play him in Fantasy.

The REAL question is: Who will get more snaps at WR? McCown or Mike Williams?

The return of Artose Pinner. Ex-Lions always seem to do well against us.
Of course, players that have never played for the Lions seem to do pretty well against us as well.
For that matter, so do rookies, veterans, guys that have been in and out of football, guys that have never played football, guys coming back from injuries, guys playing with injuries, cheerleaders, small children, untrained monkeys, etc. etc.

The Lions need to learn how to win close games. 8 out of the 12 games the Lions have played up to this point, they lost by 7 points or less. And some of those games were against good teams. They need some playmakers that step up when the games are close, instead of the ones giving up the big plays and turnovers. Hopefully this game against the Vikings is different, even though I know it won't be...

I say Kitna throws bomb to McCown for the winning score with less than a minute left that is called back for a motion penalty on Backus. Then with a 3rd and 20 Kitna is sacked as time runs out. Final Vikings-27 Lions-24. Jammertime I would have to draw the line at untrained monkeys. Trained monkeys maybe.

So far after 1 drive Pinner has 17 yards rushing and a TD, and 1 catch for 8 yards.
The untrained monkey has 8 rushing yards on 1 carry and 2 catches for 12 yards.

Wish we had a forum today. Open er up Roscoe.

I have a serious football question....
Here's the scenarion...
1. Kitna fumbles the ball
2. It is recovered by a Viking
3. The Viking that recovered the fumble, fumbals the ball
4. Kitna picks it up
5. Kitna tosses a pass to Roy Williams
6. Roy Williams scored
7. Is this a legal procedure.........

I think it depends on whether the ball crossed the line of scrimage and whether the Viking player established possession then it was fumbled again. I think once possesion is changed that the ball can only be lateraled backward from then on.

I think you're dead on Winless.
If Kitna fumbles behind the line (and the ball stays behind the line the entire time) he can pick it up and complete a forward pass. But once there is a change of possession, its backwards passes only.

They are so pitiful that I can't even get piised off at them enough to even stay awake anymore...HOW BAD IS THAT? Every game is like watching a rerun of the previous week. On the bright side, at least I didn't waste my time today.

The Minnesota Vikings stayed in the playoff picture with an unlikely boost from a player haunting his former team. Artose Pinner had career highs with 125 yards rushing and three touchdowns Sunday to lift Minnesota to a 30-20 win over the Detroit Lions. Despite losing five of the previous six games and being under .500, the Vikings (6-7) still have a shot at playing in January.

This is a mess. Fire everybody. This team is worse than it ever has been. Marinelli can not coach and can't manage a game. Millen can't draft the right players or hire the right coaches. The fans are lemmings for going week after week supporting this crap!!

He should get annihilated. Kitna blows!!! This team is regressing they are getting worse each week. The fumbles and the turnovers are ridiculious. Going for it on 4th down with the Lions being down 10 with and Kevin Jones just getting carried of the field was dumb. He should have kicked the field goal then they could have tried to get the ball back to try to tie. Then he burns a time out with 2:02 on the clock just before the 2min warning. Why would you do that?? Save that time out let the clock run to the 2min warning so you can stop the clock twice with your 2 remaining timeouts.

Hold up, this can`t be right. I am reading the box score for the game and it says the Lions had 9 rushes for -3 yards.
Somebody please tell me I am an idiot and reading it wrong, or it`s a misprint or something................OMG!!!!!!!

Nope it is correct. 9 rushes -3 yards oh and the 6 turnovers is not a misprint either. Does anybody have an Artose Pinner Avatar??? LOL!!! He is the next Ruben Droughns.:stirthepot:

The way this team is headed, the head coach will soon be the highest paid person on the team...because no one will want to coach the Lions under Millen, Lewand, and the Fords.
Again...there is a bright side. Did anyone else notice the many thousands of empty seats at kickoff? Lost revenue is the only thing that will get the Fords attention.
I propose a complete fan boycott of the last home game against Chicago. I don't care how much of a diehard Lions fan you are...NO ONE can possibly take any pleasure or see any entertainment value in going to a Lions game or even watching it on TV. It's up to the fans to make the Fords sado-masochistic play toy unprofitable for them and FORCE them to sell the team.

Yeah, I noticed that. But the problem is, those were paid seats that people just decided not to fill. In order to truelly make a point, people need to stop BUYING tickets.

1) those no shows may reconsider buying season tickets next year
2) Ford Field is losing a lot of parking and concession revenue

I do agree that its better than nothing, but I think it'll take something more drastic than paying for seats and not showing up to turn this franchise around.

Nice analogy. Instead of buying a butt plug, they bought the Lions to fill that same void.
