PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Larry Brown may be back with the 76ers now that Allen Iverson is gone.

Already acting as an unofficial adviser to the Philadelphia 76ers and team president Billy King, Brown could formally return to the organization he led to the 2001 NBA Finals.

As I posted yesterday, I would be very eager to hire LB for scouting out these college players right now if I were Philly. I'd have LB follow the top 50 players or so and have him file a report on each one, and then rate them. Philly will have 4 of the top 35 players or so probably. They definitely want to make sure they draft smart. LB is the most qualified in my opinion to figure that out.

This could be Larry's dream job. He has no dominant personalities in Philly to fight with, his wife (I believe) has put down some roots there, and frankly, LB was the brains behind all of their better trades, Billy King is totally lost when it comes to being a GM.

If the 76ers are stupid enough to let Iverson go without doing everything they could to get him to stay (put a good cast around him), they are stupid enough to bring LB back.

Hardly, the only reason the sixers ever had any success was the coaching of one Lawrence Brown.

They promply fell out of contention or even competitiveness the minute he left. Iverson or not.

I'd give him a one contract for $1mil., that's all he can be trusted too.

Yeah, I would make it month to month if possible. He can help them... POSSIBLY. But you gotta make it short term and go from there.

Let's get real. He's got to feed his family. One million is barely enough to feed the escape goat.

It depends. goats will eat anything.

If you buy something with the cash, you could fill the goats belly for a long time. But if you just feed him the currency, it won't go very far.

I'm pretty sure that Larry's Escape Goat is a real Cash Cow.

Thing that really strikes me about this was last summer everyone except for the Sixers knew it was time to trade AI. If they had done something then, they would have gotten a lot more for him. To make things worse they had to come out and sit AI while trying to deal him. Just not operating from any point of strength at all.

He was happy when they brought in Webber. But it wasn't enough. I think it's certain he was ready to move 2 years ago.
