The Detroit Lions placed guard Ross Verba on the injured reserve list Friday and signed defensive end Claude Harriott from the practice squad. Verba started and played in seven games before a groin injury Dec. 10 against Minnesota. Harriott originally was signed by the Lions in May after playing for the Amsterdam Admirals during the 2006 NFL Europe season.
