Looks like Larry is back in business:

The Seattle Times: Sports: 76ers hire Larry Brown (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003511959_webbrown05.html?syndication=rss)

Executive Vice President Brown.

I guess Mo Cheeks better start looking over his shoulder..at his potential replacement...

Good point... It will be interesting to see the Philly fan's perspective... LB doesn't exactly have a stellar track record as an exec there.
He's gonna want to trade all the kids for over the hill vets.

Even Philly is smart enough not to let him have a coaching contract.
Let's see what kind of contract he got. I bet they don't pay him for a trunkated effort.

While Billy King will have final say in player transactions, LB will be pushing constantly for trades. He'll also be second guessing Cheeks strategies.
You gotta believe that Larry will be pining for Piston players... you might think that Joe wouldn't want to deal with Larry... but then again he may enjoy picking his pocket... I think this hiring increases the chances of a Philly/Det deal.

That's all good logic Merc, but I don't think Mr. D will have anything to do with "the bad person".

Larry's first business proposition to Billy King...
"Hey Billy, I 've got a great deal here. We trade that young kid Iggy for Lindsey Hunter. Now that'll get us over the top... can we huh, can we" (while clapping his hands and jumping up and down).

If Larry jumps too much, his hip catheter starts to come loose and slide down his leg.

Here's some gems from some Philly fans:

I'm thrilled that Brown is back...then again, I'm a mild masochist and enjoy suffering

Sweet.. Iguodala just got traded for Eric Snow.

larry brown is a meddler

Larry Brown is a worm - He's a weasly whiner thats made ugly exits out of many places - but you cant deny his basketball mind - for all those negative things you cant deny what hes done - He's not in a position of power - when he becomes coach or powerful then ill be the first one to flip out - but hes an advsior - he knows BBall and hes proven that- hes a proven winner so why wouldnt you at least leave one ear open for him

IMHO, it's only a matter of time before Larry Brown is in charge of everything. Maybe he'll be different here, but if he's anything like he was with the Knicks, my condolescenses goes out to all Sixer fans.

a Larry Brown run team might not want an inexperienced rookie that looks like a project. However, give him a top 5 pixk and the kid will be just fine.

Not that I disagree with you but does the name Darko Milicic ring a bell
He was a top 5 pick and his first NBA year came about 3 years into his NBA stay

He got run out of Detroit, he got embarassed in New York, so he's runninng back home to the one franchise so poorly run that they are willing to take him back.

It'll be slow, but I believe it's not long before browns running the show and the sixers are excited to be a consistent 7/8 seed with no future.

Korver plays no defense, he is going to be the first one shipped out when Brown comes in

Larry Brown didn't start trading our draft picks until we got good.

Brown drafted Dalembert, Hughes, and Tim Thomas. I wouldn't call any of those guys "no potential" guys when they came into the league.

Knick fans may not realize this, but most of us know exactly what we're getting in Brown. Probably more than they do.

Yes they drafted Larry Hughes

Instead of Drik Nowitzki
Or Paul Pierce

what gun should i use to blow my brains out? cuz i cannot possibly go through another larry brown era in phiily

Nazr and Dupree for Steven Hunter and Korver.

I'd even throw in Flip to sweeten the deal if LB were really playing hardball.

Joe needs to sign Darvin away from the Phillipino Developmental League (PDL) and then trade Darvin to Larry for Korver.

It is going to be interesting because you know they did not bring Brown on to stand pat and not make trades.

How about Nazr, Dupree, Flip Jr and Flip Sr for Ashton Korver, Steven Hunter, Willie Green and LB. :)

I have a feeling every GM in the NBA is working out deals offering their defensive specialist-energy guys for Korver and Iguodala. Too bad we don't have anyone that plays defense.

LB says "I didn't come here to be involved in the coaching." (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2724342) So how long till he's back? Days, weeks, or months?
