In review of refs (http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/sports/articles/0126sunsofficials0126.html)

Very interesting article revealing how the NBA scrutinizes it's officials.

Really interesting. I wonder how much information, if any, gets passed back to the players / teams. Does someone call them up and say, hey, that was a good call, you really did travel...

Anecdotes from a former ref.

Former ref has official say - NBA Coverage - BostonHerald.com (http://celtics.bostonherald.com/otherNBA/view.bg?articleid=180174)

Great read.

Benson said a referee wants to be absolutely certain the call is correct if a player fouls out.

“When that sixth foul occurs,” Benson said. “God rest his soul - Ray Charles needs to see it.”

Wish I could believe this. I think the review system is designed to address conspiracy therories but its more for show than substance. You would have to be a complete moron to think that some unknown players gets the same kind of calls that Wade gets on a typical national broadcast.

I wish they would make it a practice to see EVERY foul they call, not just the 6th ones.

They seem to be admitting that they are not sure on a lot of calls. If you aren't sure, then don't call it. That is the kind of bs that created these Flop artists.

A nice little Chuck Daly anecdote in there.
