While in Seattle, James initiated a no-uncontested-layup policy. He said that when 6-9 Nick Collison arrived last season as a rookie out of Kansas he was concerned about getting into foul trouble. But in the end Collison joined forces with James, and ended up averaging 8.7 fouls per 48 minutes -- fifth highest in the league.

In theory I like the no uncontested layup idea. In reality it could cause the officials to come down hard on the team but for the Pistons....I can see Maxiell fitting into this mold. I'd like to see it used for the Pistons.

What made the Bad Boys much more than thugs was the fact that they were ALWAYS in position to stop the layup. No matter how much they had to chase, somebody would find a way to cover down low.

Jerome James is a fat pantload who is simply too lazy to leave the lane. He is a $30-million speedbump.

Don't hold back LanierFan. Just let it out man. It isn't good to keep your emotions all bottled up like that. I'm starting to sound like my wife.

Yeah, I agree. Can't go wrong with "fat pantload" though. Excellent work.

Unfortunately for me I can only hope LB inspires him, because he is my center on my Fanstasy team and right now he is the only BIG man available until the season starts and I can see who the unknown breakout undrafted big man out there.

I feel for you, man. When Jerome James is your fantasy center, you're riding the emotional rollercoaster without a friendly carnie to strap you in.

yep, I have him in one of my deep fantasy leagues. you can imagine how disappointed I was when I looked at the ESPN preview for New York and his name wasn't even MENTIONED. I can't believe he came to camp fat and out of shape. I know Larry is not afraid to let him ride the pine too.
