Basketbawful: Take the Lebron Challenge (http://basketbawful.blogspot.com/2007/02/take-lebron-challenge.html)
The site also provides a link to the Lebron on MSN Message Board (http://boards.msn.com/LeBronboards/board.aspx?BoardID=929). It's a peaceful refuge for the deluded and insane to participate in various provacative Lebron-themed discussions, such as "How did Lebron get so good? Is it talent or hard work?" and "What do you like most about Lebron?" In answer to the last question, "lady passion" had this to say:I LOVE LEBRON IN EVERY SINCE [sic] OF THE WORD. ME AND MY MAN CAN'T GET MARRIED BECAUSE OF MY DEDICATION TO LEBRON. THAT MAN IS MY EVERYTHING AND IT KILLS ME TO SEE HATERS ALL OVER HIM BUT HE IS SO STRONG AND THAT'S WHAT INSPIRES ME. I LOVE U AND FORGET THE OTHERS IN THIS GAME! I CAN'T WAIT TIL U COME TO MEMPHIS ON THE 14. SEE U SOON,HOPEFULLY AND STAY SAFE.I don't know what's more unbelieveable: the fact that she won't marry her boyfriend because of a famous athlete she's never going to meet, or the fact that she has a man at all. Good luck to you, lady passion.

LeBron is keeping this couple from getting hitched. Somebody better tell the family values crowd that traditional marriage is once again coming under attack. We must outlaw LeBron before we are all witnesses to the end of modern civilization.
On a variation of that.
TNT is famous for those Lebran or Kobe vs whoever matchups.
Notice how their broadcasts are setup for low attention span people? Talking about all the cut-aways and in-game courtside interviews. They never go for more than 7 or 8 mins of game time without feeling the need to entertain us in other ways.

He may need to get hitched himself. I heard some broadcaster ragging on him last week that his girlfriend was expecting again....not that it makes that much difference these days
I don't know. Seems like the NBA marketting campaign has been getting away from the real fans lately, catering to those who know nothing about the sport other than watching Lebran and Flash score 50.
So this is what you get.

I can't stand the "Bonus Coverage" crap, where they leave the game you're watching and go to some other game. Um, I hate to break it to you, but it's only "Bonus" if it's in ADDITION to the game you're watching, not instead of it. They should call it "Replacement Coverage".
I know they try to do it to keep the attention of the "casual" fan when the game is boring, but if I'm watching the game, it's because I want to watch THAT game. I don't watch it in hopes that they'll cut to some "Bonus Coverage" of a game I'm not watching. I don't get to watch many games as it is, at least let me watch the games that I'm watching!

LeBron has an intelligent fan after all. Or maybe it is someone who is a fan of who Lebron could be.

Yeah, I remember some of the stuff you used to post to Mo Evans.:stirthepot:
And I don't want to bring up the "D" word, but I'm sure he gets plenty.

This one was definitely my favorite from the "In what ways are you inspired by Lebron" thread.
"Lebron, inspired me the way he play, his behaviors. I remembered watching him playing against Miami heat in 2005 when he dunks over Devon Jones and Tim Duncan in 2006 season."
It reads like haiku, doesn't it?

Fall 9 times, get up 10 times
And other bull%%%%.
The agency I work for have Sprite and Nike as clients so i have to watch people who know nothing about basketball nor ever seen a game in their lives, spin this malarky, and turn him into a sports god. Its sickening.

That could make for some fun assignments at work, couldn't it?
Webz' co-worker: Hey, webz is a basketball guy, let's get his ideas for these LeBron ads.
Webz: Why don't you get some footage together of him travelling and missing free throws?
Webz' co-worker: Those are good plays in a basketball game, right?
Webz: Riiiiiight...

haha. yeah. no, i just work in the IT dept. so i have no creative influence, but theres been a couple of times where i've seen basketball magazines, shoes and pictures of players strewn around someone's desk, so i asked them if they follow basketball. they don't. they only know of jordan and now lebron because of the work they do. and this person helps come up with ideas for a major swoosh label.
thats why all those adverts and commerical %%%%e suck so much. the people who create them don't have a personal interest in the 'product', just a business interest and how to sell it.

LeBron James Isn't the Cavalier to Admire Most: Scott Soshnick (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601039&refer=columnist_soshnick&sid=a_dZUn_IWXEk)
Which Cleveland Cavaliers' player most deserves your admiration?
Here's a hint:
He doesn't lead the team in scoring, rebounding, or, well, any meaningful basketball metric. So LeBron James is out.
Give up?
Try Ira Newble."I couldn't sit back and do nothing,'' says Newble, 32, who hopes to visit Darfur this summer. "It shouldn't just be about making money and living well. It's about what you can do for somebody else.''
With assistance from Reeves and Jill Savitt, director of the Olympic Dream for Darfur campaign, Newble drafted an open letter from professional athletes to China's government.
Newble signed it first.
Armed with information, statistics and photographs Newble made the case to his teammates that they should sign, too. They spoke as a group first, then individually.
Newble says he referred to the movies "Hotel Rwanda'' and "Blood Diamond,'' knowing his teammates would be familiar with the horrors chronicled on film.
Eleven Cavaliers put pen to paper.
LeBron did not. Neither did Damon Jones, who has a marketing contract with Li-Ning Sports Goods Co. Ltd., a Chinese sneaker and apparel maker.
"It was basically not having enough information,'' LeBron said in an interview before Game 4 of his team's playoff game against the Nets in New Jersey three days ago. "Any decision I make I have to have extensive knowledge.''
Jones declined to comment, saying "I'm not commenting about that.'' When will LeBron grow up and become his own man?
He's one of the most influential athletes on the planet, and claims to need extensive knowledge to protest against genocide in Darfur.
Or maybe it's that his endorser manufactures athletic apparell in the country the letter of protest was being sent to...

Beautiful, Low. Well put, my friend. I loathe Jordan. He would loathe me if he knew me because I loathe him. It's only natural that he would loathe me back.

On Darfur, LeBron James drops the ball | csmonitor.com (http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0524/p09s01-coop.html)
Here James echoes the dominant hoopster of his youth, Michael Jordan, who has a record of putting profits over principles. Mr. Jordan refused to endorse African-American Democrat Harvey Gantt in his bid to unseat Republican (and ex-segregationist) Jesse Helms in a racially tinged 1990 Senate race in Jordan's home state of North Carolina. "Republicans buy sneakers, too," he explained.
