What do you call it when a Miser meets the Pride of Motown?

An %%% whippin'!

Let's do this.

I look at ya roster, don't know if its fair,
You fight without passion like Sam Dalembert.
You must be from Philly, cause I'm a serve you like steak
In the words of Jerome James, dude this is cake
and I'm hungry, to see Miser, fail "miser"ably
Hell, I'll predict it..Motown 6, Miser 3!

Future champ baby!!!!!!!!!

Looks like it will go down to the wire for me and Miser. I'm still predicting a 6-3 victory. I'm expecting alot out of my new pickups this week: Singleton, Smush and Duhon.

Miser was already predicting he would be in the finals. Not a smart move when you still have to face the pride of Motown! ;)

yup i assumed that too. he's now my utility guy instead of hinrich, who hasn't impressed me with the types of stat categories i'm looking for.

i picked up antoine walker too - now i think he sucks, but he had the one 25-point, 16-rebound, 4-assist game to start the year...and 2 sucky games after that. he usually explodes every once in awhile (and will be used more w/shaq and posey out), so i figure it's worth the risk to play him today against the nets with their weak front court. and then i'm dropping him :)

i'm really worried about hughes this year. i'm loaded at point and tried to trade him + hinrich for paul pierce, but the guy wanted nash for pierce instead and...that just ain't happenin :D

We have a new leader! JAMMERTIME!

Congrats to Jammertime for accomplishing what I was unable to, defeating my fellow fantasy guru, Old Miser, and in impressive fashion. 8-1! OUCH! Unfortunately, Miser's team felt the injury bug last week. Suicide during a week with a condensed holiday schedule.

Expect a fantasy roundup this week where I will discuss the current state of the league, managers to watch, and growing trends.

Why is there some much chatter over in the Novice L and none here? I mean, I dont have much time to talk smack, but 33 pages to 3!!! Come on'

Let's talk about.....

How Miser was going to totally rip FD off, then the league does FD a favor by vetoing the trade and he gets all upset about it. Come on, B. Jackson and A Bogut (from Miser) for R. Lewis (from FD)????

Seriously FD, you proposed that???? I offered Kaman, Posey and Barbosa, which got declined...Is it that much worse?

Or how about how close the standings are. I dont have that much experience in the fantasy leagues but the top 5-7 teams are pretty close...only a few games apart..

About a month ago Slippy and I were talking about the same thing. We were going to talk some inter-league smack talk to help get you guys going since there was no intra-league smack going on.

We decided we better not because we didn't want to inadvertantly offend someone.

But how about this fellas?...

Next week...we pit our number one against your number one. Our number two against yours. Our number 3.. and so on. It would be easy to compare totals.

I'll bet we kick your butts!!! The only reason you guys are the so called experts is because that's the name of your league. So why don't you so called "experts" pit your sorry arse teams against ours and earn your titles? Bok Bok Bokkkkkk.

That sounds like a great idea, but...

From top to bottom (for the most part) we have a bunch of quality teams, check out the teams over .500. Its very close. So basically our league it seems like the talent is spread out much more than most other leagues. Which would result in our top teams not being as good as your top teams and our lower level teams dominating your lower level.

Anyway, I could be wrong.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!! This should be interesting...

I have stumbled this week because Kobe has only played one game. He normally carries my load in the point production, but brings me down in FG%. The one game he played this week he shot on 32%.

The rest of my so called point guards (Duhon and Boykins) had poor weeks and the only thing I'm getting out of Eddie Griffin are the blocks that I picked him up for. G. Hill is still sidelined and Genobli played for the first time last night after being out for a week..

I was doing good the past three weeks trying to recover from the 8-1 thrashing I suffered at the hands of Wonders playas the second week of the season. :frusty:

... best record, second half season. Yup. FD. 35-19 since we started the second cycle. Racing towards the top. The idiot-savant who had to be saved from himself by the vastly superior Old Miser (25-27 in the same weeks) is whooping ass.

I probably should have saved this e-mail until I finished playing the top 2 teams in the league in the next two weeks. But what the hell, I'm feeling pretty good right now.

I love my team. In the true Pistons mold, no stars, just bust-their-ass guys getting the job done (OK maybe Walker doesn't quite fit the mold, but I never tried to trade him, cause I didn't think anyone would want him).

Very disappointed with RDang for choosing to chase tail last week, and leaving his roster bare. I was looking forward to a real battle. I guess I'll get that this week against the silent killer.

By the way, I learned a lot about being humble for the fantasy gods in other leagues, but I'm going to test them one more time...

Who's gonna beat this juggernaut?

good luck FD, I would say lets make a deal before the deadline, but there's not really anyone on your sorry squad that interests me ;)

Not too bad for beginners, but if you really want to become proficient at this, I recommend that you enroll in the following courses taught at U of M.

Momma bashing 101...Professor Slippy.

Manhood smashing 203...Professor Linwood

Man, you're serious about this trash talk. lol!

Hard for me to talk trash sitting in 8th place after an unexpected whippin from Loanshark. I've been makin some moves though. Drinkin' milk so to speak...and I will be ready for the home stretch. Great second half run...just know that there is always someone lurking from behind that is ready to pounce...and take you down at the knees. :eyebrows:

If my guys are so aweful, how come I get a trade offer almost every day from you??

Your squad of Garnett, Marion and Allen will be no match for Team Juggernaut. Everybody else on your team is pretty marginal. Prince, Swift, Jasikahoochkiss, Barbosa, Stackmouse, Radman, KMart (that's Kevin), Deng, Radman. Man that's mediocre.

You've been in first place for a while now, so I'll give you some props.

But let me be the next to wave as I pass you by.

LOL, what place are you in? When do we match up?

As long as KG doesnt start a trend of picking on helpless fans, acting as if he's preparing for a dodgeball tourney and Allen stops being a wuss and stays on the court (flu), I'll be alright...Which are the 2 reasons I let this week slide to PFS...

By the way I'm kidding about Garnett, that fan was ridiculous. Looking for a payday.

I am wheeling and dealing and working the phones 24/7. Hopefully these last little deals will get me in a playoff spot. I see the trash talking is getting thick. I can't talk trash being in 9th place. I will just say this I was once in first and then a injury or two happened and look where I AM NOW.:frusty:

Why havent you made any deals w/ me? When I have R. Allen, Kaman, Ridnour & TP all on the trading block...

I offered you Paul and Hinrich for Allen and Ridnour. That seemed pretty fair to me. You kept offering Allen and garbage for my whole team. Gotta give something to get something!

nah, not fair IMO...Ray Allen has been a top 5 fantasy player all year, and he's 6th now only b/c he missed 5 games w/ the suspension and 1 game b/c he was sick. Ridour is in the 40s, I believe. neither of your guys crack the top 20...that doesnt add up to me...

Thats right, you do have a good squad, I was thinking of another team. I cant check that stuff while at work...

I just sent you a deal. You want to do 4 and 5 player trades. I really only need a few pieces to help my team. I am not interested in trading my whole roster. I am interested in 2 for 1 deals or 2 for 2.

They're very smart. If my work banned fantasy sports, I'd be at least twice as productive. Hence the F in FD (fired, if I keep it up).

Mine has a ban too...but I've given in to temptation and peeked at times. Darth has a slight authority problem.

you're only in 8th place?

unfortunately, yes.

I've been hit by the injury bug pretty hard this year killing my momentum whenever I get a nice streak going on. The good news is that the difference between 8th and 6th is not that vast. We have a very competitive league. I've had to work wonders just to stay in striking distance most of the year.

That's just how it goes sometimes. Still a ton of fun though! :)

This would be my first time ever missing a playoffs. I don't plan on killing my streak without a fight. ;)

Well this is it. I have made all of the moves I can. I am within stiking distance but I think my team is just not good enough. All year long I have won 5-4 or lost 4-5. I never really recovered from when Camby and TMac both went down at the same time. I might over take Motown for 8th I have climbed within a half of game of his team. We will see how it goes.:fingerscr

Well Winless you have beaten me twice including an 8-1 shellacking in week two that took me almost six weeks to recover and then again 5-3 around week 12 or so. Its probably is too late for you to get into the top 4, but you put together a couple of 7-2 weeks and you can get in the top 6.

I thought I had that sixth spot wrapped up 3 weeks ago, but two bad losses to the Old Miser and Motown pushed me back to the 8th spot :frusty:

No excuses, but injuries have done me in lately as role players, G. Hill, Earl Boykins, Josh Childress and Chris Mihm went down, and key players didn't step up. Took chances on others replacement scrubs who didn't live up to their prior weeks hype. Oh well it was nice balling with you fellas the last 20 weeks.

I don't know. I think it'll be pretty close. Bosh is out for at least 10 days and you've got a full roster going tonight, which will make up for my quick start yesterday.

May the best man win... unless of course, you're the best man, in which case, may I win.
