Talk about a conflict of interest. Jay-Z has an ownership stake in the Nets, but he is a good pal of Lebron's.
Nets in 7.

I just hope it goes 7. I want whoever wins to be good and tired for the Pistons.

Would not care who win the series but make sure it will at least a 6 game series. Anyway what series is this??? The ECF is tonight at 7pm.
GO err....PISTONS!!!
Even if the Nets win this series, does anyone actually think they are worthy of being in the ECF?
And the Cavs, well... if they get through let's just hope its in 7.
I changed my mind after watching the Nets beat my Raptors........
Nets in 5..........

I pick the Nets in 6. Not on my brackets, of course...

I picked the Cav`s in my brackets, but I wouldn`t be surprised if NJ wins this series.
However, I could care less, the Pistons are on a mission!

Nets have too much talent and are feeling much better about themselves. Should not go past 6 games.

Cavs could barely beat Washington who had two best players out. NJ has all of its players together and they are finding that cohesiveness, which could have been seen in the Toronto series. Jefferson is rounding nicely into the form, we all know what Kidd can do. If Carter is good (not even great) NJ should be advancing.

Fairly ugly game here, but wow, Pavlovic just rejected Kidd on the fastbreak in the last two minutes a la Tayshaun with The Block on Reggie.

Grind it out type of win for Cleveland. The Nets have to be upset that they couldn't steal a game when Cleveland played as poorly as they did offensively.

I really wants the Cavs to win so that JMax and Tazr can re-arrange LBJ's face.
He just did a dance after a "superstar" foul call on a basic layup. I seriously dislike this guy's character, his image, his message and his free ride to superstardom.

If you hate his image, you would REALLY hate being his neighbor.
An outer wall will feature a limestone sculpture — a bas-relief of LeBron's head, wearing his trademark headband.

watching both the nets and cavs is hideous. poor defense, ill-advised shots, no semblance of a game plan. the nets are slow, the cavs don't have a point guard.

A little touchy aren't we, seriously though, what message or image?, i never see Bron in the news for anything bad
any one who feels this way would instantly change their mind if he was on their team, this guy makes almost as many impossible fade aways as Kobe plus he drives, plus he dishes out, plus his image is sparkly clean
I've gotta say Sheed's on court attitude can look way worse
LBJ does get a lot of calls and if its your team that loses because of one of the them its going to leave a bad feeling for the guy. This is the monster that the NBA has created.
Granted he would still be a great player but how much better could anyone be if they knew they could take a few extra steps here and there and have a different criteria for what an offensive foul is.
I wanted the Nets to win, not looking too good now. They can still make a series of it. It has not been domination as in our series.

Suffice it to say, the only people in love with LBJ are folks from Ohio or displaced Cavs fans.
He doesn't have the star power of AI or Kobe. He's just another in a line of high schoolers who jump to the pros, generate a lot of hype and then flame out. His game hasn't grown in 2 years.
Sorry, we don't need LBJ in Detroit. I wouldn't want him on this team if he was free. Like Dwyane Wade, his greatest talent is getting a free pass from the refs.
Being a Detroit fan is a lot about pride. We're not the Cavs. We have banners in our rafters and several guys in the HOF.

AMEN. (inspired by your avatar Roscoe):)
Sheed also has very good sportsmanship. When the game is over win or lose he always shakes hands. Went out of his way to congradulate the Heat last season. All the Pistons did.
LBJ shocked me last year when he refused to congradulate any of the Pistons after his Cavs lost game 7. Thats just not cool.
I want the Nets to win just to avoid all the drama. Not saying there are any league wide conspiracies but we all know LBJ will get his calls and that some of that may cost us a game because of it. If they beat us then they beat us but if they win on some last sec BS call its going to frusteration that I just don't need.
Hopefully the Nets can pull this one out and give us a nice clean hard fought ECF.
If the Sanantonio robots win then good god man, who nation wide wants to see another Spurs/Pistons series? If I had any suspicions of conspiracies then facing the Cavs in the ECF with SAN in the wings scares me.

I would love to see Det/San... itd be a matchup of solid defense.. good execution and fundamentals.. its what basketball should be all about.. If you dont want to see the series cause you think itd be boring your just as bad as the media/league.

Don`t worry about it Max.
The conspiracy gods want the Suns/Cav`s Finals..................
I can see the NBA, Stern and company salivating at the thought of such a series.

Thank you Roscoe, I like seeing it in print. We all know it's true, but it's nice to see others are seeing the same stuff I'm seeing.

I am with you halfway. I have been wondering how long it will take for everyone to figure out that LeBron is more Pippen than Jordan.
Dwayne Wade on the other hand would be almost as good without the refs. That guy is a killer. The preferential treatment he gets does make it harder for me to enjoy his game, especially when he is playing the Pistons.

I had a long day today and heard on Sportstalk Radio here in DC that the Nets won today. I forget who was talking but this idiot had the nerve to say that the Nets could still win the NBA title!!!!
I kep trying to get through on my cell phone to call this guy and ask him to turn himself in to the nearest drug rehab facility. No luck.
I understand how everyone is riding the Nets as each NBA season starts...Kidd, Vince, Jefferson......etc. However, I think their best days are behind them.
Now, I know everyone on this forum understands that this Nets/Cav`s series is the "sacrificial lamb"series. There is no way, well I will not even watch the Finals if either of these teams are in it...

Reggie Miller made a good point about Kidd drawing his defender too close to Vince on that last play. I was hoping for Vince to hit one.

OK, so the Nets hit ONE field goal in the 4th quarter tonight...Kidd missed 5 free throws in the last minute...the Nets scored SIX points total in the 4th quarter...and they still won by 11! The Cavs put up a mighty 72 points for the whole game...at home.
Just when we thought that the suddenly difficult Bulls series might damage us in the next round, the Nets and Cavs turned in what was probably the worst game of the playoffs so far. At least that can let us rest a bit easier, for now.

Keep hope alive as the Cavs flatline and could not eliminate the underachieving Nets. At one point Nets had a 23 point lead with about 25 seconds left in the 3rd and only scored six points in the 4th qtr to win by 11. They hit one fg and 4 ft's At one point jason Kidd missed 5 straight FT's with under a minute left. luckily for the Nets, the Cavs didn't score any points in the last two minutes. Both teams missed their first 8 & 9 field goals to open the quarter.
So now the Cavs will have to what the Pistons have to do and win the close out game 6 on the road. Go Nets!!

Beacon Journal | 05/17/2007 | Basically, these guys are confused (http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/sports/basketball/nba/cleveland_cavaliers/17238895.htm?source=rss&channel=ohio_cleveland_cavaliers)
The New Jersey Nets did three things Wednesday night that utterly confused the Cavaliers.
1. They left Larry Hughes outrageously wide open on the perimeter and dared the Cavs shooting guard to do just that -- shoot.
The result?
The rim could have sued Hughes for assault and battery, and 20,562 witnesses would have convicted him with a voice vote of boos, which echoed all over Quicken Loans Arena.
2. The Nets ran a high pick-and-roll play with future hall of famer Jason Kidd and Mikki Moore. They ran it over and over and over.
The result?
A journeyman who has been on nine teams in nine years, Moore (14 points, six rebounds) looked like he will be going into the hall of fame with Kidd. And the dazed Cavs appeared to have never seen anything like a basic pick-and-roll near the top of the key before. You almost expected them to stomp their feet and whine, ``No fair, stop! Use another play!''
3. The Nets played a lot of zone and sagging man-to-man defenses designed to make sure LeBron James (20 points, 5-of-14 shooting) never felt alone, unless he had the ball -- because no help was coming from his teammates.

Yes as Bezeach indicated, it will be on Monday night opposite the season finales of 24 and the Dancing with the Stars Final elimination show. In other words probaby prime time 8 PM EDT. That was the announcement on ESPN right after the Nets had their patterned 4th quarter meltdown. Of course the Cavs only scored 8 points in the third so it looks like we will have another low scoring affair in the EC Finals this year.
