Miami Heat | Sun-Sentinel Blogs: Trade Shaq? (Part 4) (http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports_basketball_heat/2007/05/trade_shaq_part_2.html)

Of the report from respected NBA writer Sam Smith, O'Neal said, "Obviously, it's an idiot like Sam stirring up trouble."

Of South Florida media picking up on Smith's report, O'Neal said, "You all should be spanked for this."

Of Riley moving quickly to discount the rumor, O'Neal said, "Sam has no credibility after this, whatsoever."

And of Smith raising the possibility from a distance, O'Neal said, "I promise he wouldn't say that to my face in a dark alley, where it's just me and him and no witnesses. I guarantee he wouldn't say that to me, guarantee it."

Knowing Sam all these years, I could probably guarantee that. Sam might be quick with a rumor (just ask Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich or anyone else who helped Chicago advance to the second round), but he's not stupid.

Then again, even on that O'Neal offered a view, "Sam is an idiot -- i-d-o-u-t -- idiot."

Sam the Sham... and people actually still take this hack seriously.
If you put all of his fabrications together you would have book called "rumors for dummies"

With his 20 million per season contract, I'll guess he's stuck with the Heat for the Final 3 years left on his deal. Shaq likes money, Shaq likes south Florida, Shaq likes Wade (better team player than kobe). They'll be competitive for the next several years. Who knows, maybe Shaq reworks his deal to allow more cap space.
