The Phoenix Suns plan to name Steve Kerr as the team's President of Basketball Operations and General Manager in the coming days, replacing Mike D'Antoni as the team GM to keep his focus on coaching.

Great move by the Suns, in my opinion. The guy knows basketball and seems to have a level head.

Is he simply going to advise the Suns that Rasheed Wallace likes to settle for 3 pointers instead of going down on the block?

I think the Suns have a winner with Steve Kerr as a GM. The guy has 5 championship rings, a Gold Medal (as a college player) and his University of Arizona team made it to the Final Four before losing to Oklahoma. I live in Tucson and he's very well respected here for being such a solid citizen and all around good guy. I sent him an email telling him to trade Boris Diaw for Carlos Delfino and both teams would be better off with that trade. Carlos would fit into the Suns style of basketball and can you imagine him blossoming under a coach with a European style of playing and Steve Nash as your point guard? Diaw would fit our style of play since he's not a run/gun player. So I'll post what Kerr says back to me if I get a response.

I like Steve Kerr, an all around great guy. I see him doing great things to the team next season. The Suns will be in the Finals next year, I guaranteed.

Me too, Delfino is great at some moment or not but he's not a rounded player with his playing time. This trade might be good for both teams.
