Miami only went 7 deep all night. If Shaq had played, this would have been a win for the Heat. Magloire fouled out, and Bogut had 4 fouls. I'm willing to bet that Shaq would have fouled out Bogut as well.

It will be interesting to see how the Heat cope without Shaq.

They are really playing well. I think this is the best blend of veteran players and youth that the Clippers have ever had. I wouldn't be suprised if they ended up being one of the suprises of the West this year.

It would be gr8 to see the Heat go on a losing streak while Shaq is out... just enough to give us a home court over them.

That was very surprising to see Philly pull one out in Indy without Dalembert (no size)... however I wouldn't put too much emphasis on it... we know Indy can be just as good on the road as at home.

The best record in the East is going down to the last week of the season... and I wouldn't count out the Bucks either.

. . . that these early losses for Miami come back to haunt them. Getting off to a great start, it seems to me, was the only way the Heat could stay in contention with us for home court. I can see some losses for Indy, too, that can help us.

I was just a little worried about such an early west coast trip, but with a 3-0 going in, we should come out of the trip in good shape, with one of the tough stretches out of the way.

Yeah, I have Arenas, Wade, Bibby, A.Miller, and Hinrich as my guards so I'm pretty happy with that position so far. I wasn't too worried about the "points" category yesterday, but it's fun to watch your guy light it up anyhow.

Jalen Rose held pointless tonight as Philly beats Toronto. First pointless game for Rose since 1998. He played 6 minutes and had 4 fouls. I swear he wanted to explode in the locker room interviews but sucked it up.

AI had 43 btw, putting him over 17,000 for his career. Another great game from CWebb as well.

I watched the 4th Q of the Golden State/Bucks game. I've got JRich and BDiddy on my fantasy team and they were sucking for most of the game.

Close at the end, when Milwaukee missed 3 straight FTs that could have iced the game. That moron Danny Crawford was the lead official and they must have blown a half dozen calls in the last 3 minutes.

Troy Murphy is completely useless. Zarko Chabarkapa (sp!) is useless. Dunleavy is worthless. The 4 best players on that team are all guards. Pietrus, JRich, BDiddy and Derek Fisher. The only big man who can play a little is Foyle, but he is a total liability on the offensive end, wandering around the paint aimlessly, bumping his own penetrating guards. Heck of a shot blocker though.

G-State has no offensive gameplan whatsoever. They just play isolation and chuck up close to 30 treys per game. It's terrible to watch with the game on the line and their best rebounder (Murphy) spotting up for a trey as 3 Milwaukee defenders cover the defenisve rebound and ice the game.

So Milwaukee won, ended an 18 game road losing streak to the West. The streak started in GS, and they ended it tonight in GS.

Funniest part of the Warriors/Bucks game was the Milwaukee announcers. I didn't catch their names, but they are big time homers and as I tuned in at the start of the 4th Q, one of them was comparing Andrew Bogut to Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The other guy just made fun of him with comments like "Andrew only has 30,000 points to go!" etc etc.

I posted in the draft forum, Bogut is for real. Real tough, real gritty. Golden State could have used some of that tonight...

So what's the best thing about living in California?
There isn't a whole lot. I don't like it. I don't like it at all. I like the weather, that's probably the best thing. Other than that, the traffic sucks, the people are jerks. That must be why multiple suitors who've chased Artest from the start are suddenly calling L.A. "the team." Yet that would almost certainly require the inclusion of Corey Maggette (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3336), which the Clippers have steadfastly resisted.
Have they reconsidered?
There is a growing belief around the league that they have, with the Clips' 14-5 start a memory and Mike Dunleavy Sr. perfectly willing to coach the game's foremost problem child. Remember what Dunleavy said in our recent package on the Clippers, before Artest's trade demand was issued: "Give me talent, I'll figure out how to make 'em happy."

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dailydime

Comments: Artest for Magette? Nice pickup for the Pacers if it happends. Magette is supposed to be back from his injury in another month. Plenty of time to get him accumulated before the playoffs.

http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_15631.shtml

I was going to write a column on this but I found it unneccessary as I think this article does a great job of detailing what has made this team look quite different the last couple of games. Watching them play, they appear to be a much more disciplined team. It took some time but they are finally buying into Brown's system and the results have been encouraging.

A couple of interesting points that were not mentioned in the article.

Brown has shown that he is not afraid to play the youth ahead of veterans
This New York team has been stellar offensively during there current winning streak.
Nate Robinson, overshadowed by the amazing play of Channing Frye, is quitely having a terrific season for the Knicks.By the midway point of the season, I expect the Knicks record to get a healthy injection. At that point, I think we will be able to see if the playoffs are a attainable goal for Zeke's boys.

The Lakers beating a healty Miami team is the icing on this seasons cake... the pundits can go to hell... the Heat are way overrated.
Some said that the new mix they added would work... they didn't understand that there's not enough leather to go around...

Then there's the inevitable injuries to Shaq & Wade.

Don't look now but we could end up with Miami in the early rounds...

There's something enjoyable with Riley taking over an overpriced team that he mortgaged the future for and it's not happenin' for them.

If anybody cares to see the exact opposite of Detroit's managerial approach, check out this article (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/basketball/mavs/stories/031906dnspomavsbreakup.21bc258.html) describing why Don Nelson and Mark Cuban broke up their relationship in Dallas.

A highlight:

Cuban and (Avery) Johnson talk all the time. If the owner misses a game, Johnson will e-mail or phone. Cuban calls the relationship a beautiful thing. "For me, one of the healthiest things about the organization is our relationship," Johnson said. "That's one of the great things about where we are now. We communicate.

"Nellie would always complain about Mark being around the huddles. Mark being around the huddles gave him a chance to see what I do strategically, see how I communicate, hear how I handle adversity, hear how I discipline, see what plays I draw up in the last seconds of a game.
"Had he not been around, I don't know if his comfort level would have been as high to hire me as coach."

Charlie FREAKING Bell is UNCONCIOUS!

The dude is the 3rd PG in Milwaukee, Bucks up 128-106 over Phoenix, Bell has 19 PTS, 13 AST. IN 33 MINUTES!

On Sunday he had 18 + 11.

3rd string PG. WOW!

Bucks play a great second game of a back-to-back last night. They were really strong in the second half, beating Indiana. I can't understand starting TJ Ford after Bell has done such a good job recently, but Redd was an absolute monster scoring 39 points.

If not for injuries, Terry Stotts would be a Coach of the Year candidate.

..also Bucks set an NBA record with just 2 total turnovers the entire game.

Btw, the Pacers just dropped another game (now a dismal 35-37 w/the 7th seed) and are currently at risk of dropping out of the playoffs if we can get a run out of Philly and Chicago.

Philly is a game and a half behind Indiana.

Chicago is two and a half games back from the Pacers.

How ironic would that be? Jermaine O'Neal claims his team can beat the Pistons with him on it, he returns, and his team proceeds to fall out of the playoff picture. LMAO!

Holy Cow, Mike James is loosing his ferkin mind right now.

He's being interviewed by the Toronto media, and he's freaking out. They are on him about his last two bad shooting nights. Seriously, he's insane.

He makes Raging Bull Ron Artest look like a thorazine addict.

He's doing a Terrel Owens/Mike Tyson bit. Wow. No wonder Joe never re-signed him. The guy is gonzo. I wish I had recorded it! :frusty:

I am who I am, and wherever I play, I'm gunna be an absolute terror on this league for the next 5 years! He tried to talk down Chauncey when they asked him about trying too hard to score, (5 for 25 on Sunday), saying that Chauncey has less pressure on him because his teammates are so good. So does that mean the Raptors are really bad? I mean, we know that, but you don't throw your teammates under the bus if you want to be a leader.

All of my Raptors buddies are none too enthused about Mike James right now. Even a layman can tell you he's playing for a contract, not to win. And it's BLATANT. You can definitely see how this guy could rub people the wrong way off the court.

Looks like the Bulls came back on the Pacers tonight.... they were down 17 points with apprx 10 minutes left in the game.

Starting to look more like a Bulls matchup in the first round

BTW, this is a nice story about Shaquille O'Neal (http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/5491738?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=73) and his fourth-grade teacher.

NBA Roundup!

Zaza Pachulia lead the Hawks over the Heat, absolutely abusing Michael Doleac and scoring 18 points with 8-8 from the FT line. The Hawks doubled their win total from last season. Wayne Simien played 27 minutes for Miami but was unable to put up Jason Maxiell type numbers, showing why the Pistons passed on him. LOL.

The Nets beat Philly 91-88, Jacque Vaughan played 38 minutes to help rest JKidd. In THIRTY EIGHT minutes, he had 13 assists, but took ZERO shots. He scored 0 points. In THIRTY EIGHT minutes. But the Nets' reserves are kinda scary. Lamond Murray had a renaissance game scoring 19 and Bostjan Nachbar had 14 off the bench.

Wiz beat the Bucks as both Arenas and Redd scored 43 points for their team. Combined, that's more than 81. Maybe they should be MVPs.

Clips dropped their second in a row, tonight it was the Grizzbomb. Vin Baker got his first start since January 2004. Hakim Warrick started and played like crap, definitely showing that too many teams passed over Jason Maxiell for these no talent wannabees.

As I write this, the Sonics are up 5 on the Kings. Artist and Reef are having bad games. But hey, Shareef Abdur Rahim finally breaks his streak of never getting to the playoffs, so this is all really just gravy right? Btw, Johan Petro and Francisco Garcia are stinking up the joint, further proof that Joe made the right call grabbing JMax were he did. All of those other GMs have no idea who they let slip through their fingers.

THE BRAHMA, BABY!

Now this (http://www.recordonline.com/archive/2006/04/24/features_buzzandsundayextra-24bztattoos-04-24.html)is a funny story.

MARQUIS DANIELS of the Dallas Mavericks thought he was getting his initials in Chinese characters, but what his arm actually says is "healthy woman roof," Tang said. Similarly, Shawn Marion of the Phoenix Suns was under the impression that his nickname, "The Matrix," was tattooed on his leg, but Tang says the inscription translates as something like "demon bird moth balls."

With Sac blowing out the Spurs tonight they should be up 3 games to 1 now (gave away one in S.A.)... they can't matchup up with Ronnie.
Intersting series... Sac looked like they were headed to the lotto before "the trade".
Funniest play was watching Brad Miller make a cross over and hang for a shot (got two dollars under his shoes)

Arenas' Press Conference Comments:
He said....word for word....
"Hey, this is the LeBron James show, and we are all witnesses."

PRICELESS!!!
