Kinda glad this guy is back. He got a raw deal in Miami. I wonder how he feels about Darko? That is really the important question at the end of the day, isn't it?

ESPN - Stan Van Gundy spurns Kings, goes with Magic (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2895929)

His kids must be so sad that he won't have time for them anymore. Their lives will pass him by. field trips. music lessons. recitals and performances. basketball games. He soooooo sacrificed his coaching career to spend time with them. This new opportunity is such a burden.

Darko meets his new coach

DarkoM - "Hallo. I am Darko."

SVG - "Hi Darko, I'm your new coach, Stan Van Gundy."

DarkoM - "I just vant to play. Make smiling face."

SVG - "That's great! I don't have time for my family now that I am coaching again. You can play with my kids because I will be starting Tony Battie."

I love that Darko-speak. Almost like the old Darko M character.

I think what SVG did was to spend an intense period of "quality time" with his family. This will hold them for another two years at least...

There was an article recently written that said that Darko arrived at practice 1 hour before any other Magic player all year long. His dedication is off the charts. He said that he would give everything he has ever received for more minutes.

I bet Van Gundy can work with that.

Something tells me Stan will take a page out of the old Houston Rockets' playbook by going with twin towers a la Olajuwon and Sampson.

Darko starts next year alongside Howard at the 5 and 4, respectively. Time for Darko to earn his bucks.

Maybe after two years, Stan's family started to tune him out. I hear that happens to coaches.

In exchange for releasing Van Gundy, the HEAT obtained Orlando (http://magic.realgm.com/)’s first pick in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft (39th overall selection). Miami (http://heat.realgm.com/) also received the right to exchange first-round picks in the 2008 NBA Draft provided that Orlando (http://magic.realgm.com/)’s first-round pick is not among the first 14 selections in the 2008 NBA Draft. If Orlando (http://magic.realgm.com/)’s pick is among the first 14 selections or if Miami (http://heat.realgm.com/) chooses not to exchange first-round selections in the 2008 NBA Draft, the HEAT will instead receive Orlando (http://magic.realgm.com/)’s own second-round pick in the 2008 NBA Draft and future compensation. what can we get for flip?

swapping 2008 picks might bite them in the behind.
