"I can say no more than he defines the team," Duncan said. "He always has, and, as long as he's here, he always will."

"Sometimes I feel like I want to kill him because he's being too hard because he always want me to be perfect," Parker said. "But then at the end of the day when I think about it I know it's for my best."
"On our level, if big guys accept coaching and don't take it as criticism, you have a chance," said former Spurs coach Larry Brown, who gave Popovich his first job. "He has that unique ability to deal with people, and he also has a wealth of knowledge and knows how to present that."
"It's draining on people when you keep hearing the same things," Duncan said. "He keeps things new. He respects us as intelligent individuals in that he only needs to say things once, maybe, twice, and it will sink in."
