Kitna predicted that the Lions will win more than 10 games this season. The Lions were 3-13 in 2006.

Well, now he officially has Lions DNA.
Gotta check that boy Kitna for a concussion.
They'll win 10 games in three years.............
The Lions have not earned our optimism yet.

I was about to post this. I think this was a really stupid thing to say given the team's past history. Kitna clearly doesn't know what we know. But I'll be rooting for the boys just the same. As always.

Where does Kitna get his blow from? It must be some high grade stuff that has cooked his noodle. The Lions have no Offensive Line and no secondary to speak of. I don't see them winning more than 3 or 4 games. I think they will get run off the field and by game 6 or 7 the fans will plan a mutany at Ford Field.

I like strong talk.
I just hate it when it flies back in my face.
He better have a TE and Slot to go to.
Sporting News has rated the NFC (16 teams) in the following positions:
Guards/Center - Cornerbacks - Safeties - Offensive Tackles........
The Lions rated ....16th for CB - 14th for safeties - 15th for OT - 16th for G/C.
This team just doesn't have the overall talent to be competitive...

As long as the lions keep there non winning disease away from the pistons practice facility im good. But I guess we fans have that bleak hope every year for the lions we hope they do great but deep inside we hold our breaths when all the 3 point losses and double digit beat downs start

I don't have a problem with what he said. It's just pre-season optimism. What can it hurt?
We will probably suck. We always suck. But I want a guy at QB who at least thinks he can win.
I'm no Kitna fan. I like the MSU guy and the other backup (forgot his name) better, but I'm ok with what he said.

It doesn't look like the Lions brass likes Orlowski (that other guy). Stanton is not ready yet, so at this point Kitna has to be the best of the bunch. This will give Stanton a year to learn the offense and watch the games, maybe get in there for a few snaps. Hopefully he could be starting in a year or two.

I think he's right. This is the year the Lions turn it all around, and show all the doubters. They have young, upcoming talent. They have a new coaching staff that is just getting comfortable. They have the desire to win after being the laughing stock of the league...
Yessir! ...2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 is going to be the Year Of The Lions, you can write that down.

Go on down to the clock in Gastown. Watch the time tick away. At least you'll have fun while waiting for the Lions to become winners.:pound: :pound: :pound: :pound:

I hear Kitna is quite the golfer. Maybe he is just confused with how the scoring system works. If they use the golfing system where the low score wins, I would have to agree with him.

I'm not throwing Kitna under the bus, but that is kind of exaggerated. I figure more for 8 wins. Secondary isn't as bad as all think, and our OLine is more experienced now with the addition of Mulitalo. Don't expect Woody to be on the team. Peterman will be starting in his place.
Btw, Vic Carruci had us as one of the 5 best teams in the offseason, the other 3 in our division as part of the 5 worst.
Packers / 10-6
Bears / 10-6
Vikings / 8-8
Lions / 4-12
The Lion's first two games are key. They have Oakland (2-14) on the road and Minnesota (6-10) at home. If we are destined to be an 8-8 team, then we have to win BOTH of those games. We have been given two easy games to start, and some think we can surprise this season.
We should know the destiny of this team after these two contests....

Kitna says the Lions will have to work to win. Now why didn't I think of that.
On second thought. I don't think it's possible for Detroit to win, even if they work. I can't believe I am talking like this. I am a voice of optimism but something happened about two years ago where I snapped and I have finally given up any hope of them winning in the future. After forty years of it could happen, I have finally come to the realization that it could never happen.

It could happen, especially if they play all of their games on the moon. Lets have some optimism.

Right now McCown is getting all the snaps in Oakland. Culpepper signed a 1 yr. deal also. Just defense these guys and we could beat them.
Watch McCown throw for 400 yds.
