Lions sign journeyman quarterback (http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070710/UPDATE/707100412/1127/SPORTS0102)
Quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan, who played in NFL Europa this year and was released by the Chicago Bears last week, has reached a contract agreement with the Lions, Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com is reporting.
Given the inexperience of Jon Kitna's current backups -- Dan Orlovsky and Drew Stanton -- Pasquarelli writes that it is possible that O'Sullivan could compete for the No. 2 job.
O'Sullivan (6-foot-2, 227 pounds) threw for 2,201 yards and 16 touchdowns in 10 games for Frankfurt of NFL Europa this year.
He was drafted in the sixth round by New Orleans in 2002 out of Cal-Davis. Since then he has been on rosters or practice squads for the Saints, Packers, Vikings, Panthers, Patriots and Bears.
This team never seases to amuse.
