$27 million guaranteed. Unbelievable. Hope this guy ends up being the real deal.

This is a list of current NFL players most likely to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Check out #40.

We already can hear you: "The guy hasn't played a snap in The League, and you're putting him in Canton?" In a word: YES. Johnson possesses such an elite skill-set that, barring injury, it's difficult to imagine him not becoming a dominant NFL wideout. The perception is that there isn't a lot of talent in Detroit to help Johnson. But with a solid possession receiver in Roy Williams holding down the other side of the field in Mike Martz's pass-happy scheme, it's entirely possible that Johnson is the missing piece to make the Lions into a formidable offense for years to come -- assuming Detroit gets him into camp.
The dude just signed an NFL contract today, yet he's the 40th most likely active player to make it to Canton? I REALLY hope that CJ is that good and not the fact that players 41 to 800 in the NFL are that bad.
I also like the part about Roy Williams being "a solid possession receiver".

Hopefully CJ will not be placed in the Hall next to Joey. We don't want Joey's bust getting near any of our new guys.
Too many big mane college players go on to nothing in the NFL. He'll be in the HOF...................next to Tony Mandarich...........:stirthepot:

When CJ signed, I ...well..u kno...HE is the real deal. Roy Williams at 6-5 with speed. and we LOVe Roy Williams. I believe his signing will be worth 5 wins this year, so I see us MINIMUM at 9-7!! oooo[HOOO Wayne Fontes!

I love all the optimists out there, and I believe a 9-7 record is on the "hoping for miracles" side of optimism...............
Saw Roy Williams on PTI the other day. I was surprised to see that he wasn't a flake. Roy's got skills, just hope he is able to put CJ on the right page...............

Laugh now, but you'll join me in laughing at all the rest of the jokers that laughed at us when we start putting the beat down on their hides.:pound:
Over at the Detroit News Lions forum, most of the posters feel the Lions will win at least 7 games. Thats more than double what they accomplished last season. Every year the hope and hype. And then comes the letdown. Even the esteemed "Old Skool" has them doing well in his prognostication.

Oh, I'm not really laughing at you. I'm still a Lions fan after all these years. I think a Super Bowl victory by the football team would mean a lot to Metro Detroit. Won't happen this year, of course, but the NFL is probably the easiest league to turn things around. The problem with that team has always been the ownership. Unfortunately, the owners ain't gonna give up their meal ticket as their auto bidness goes down the tubes.

Just to be clear, I didn't take it as an insult or offended by you or any Lions fans that are sick of the losing. I just am going to be BELLOWING in the Bullhorn "I FRIGGIN TOLD YOU SO" to all the naysayers every chance I get!

We're so deep in this garbage of a team that we've seen over the past few years that we're "hoping" for a 7-win season. I say 7 wins is still a crappy season, granted that it is better than a 3-win season, but just marginally. I sure hope this thing turns around, but I've been hoping for a long time and every time was let down. I don't like to go into the prognostications, especially with this team. But I will only believe the improvement when I see it. Until then this is all garbage.

Zoo, keep a couple extra straight-jackets ready both Zark and Jamm.
I sence they are both the type to go postal after a couple humiliating Lion losses.

Why would there be any humiliating losses? I mean after all the losses we've had in the past few years, can there be any humiliation after all? Just take the wind.

You're right, but in their mind......................It'll all come tumbling down.
I'm amazed how every year the Lions are able to inspire the optimists to come out of the woodwork to root for the team. We all want them to win, but some people always envision at least 10 wins.......each season...When there's no logical reason to do so.:football: :frusty: :help2: :nailbiting:

And why not? We've seen turn arounds in the NFL. I know it is Lions, but there is still statistical probability that it will happen at some point.

Calvin is not the brightest bulb in the package: 6 year dealio. Why would anybody commit to 6 years of losing? He should have said, one year deal only. Then become a free agent.

I was a believer for over 40 years. Now I have become a rebrobate and have abondoned the faith. I still have the love for them though. I'm just repressing it until they show me they can at least get to 500 someday before I die.

I guess I've been "luckier" if you can call it that since I've only been following Lions since mid 90's. During this time, the Tigers were in the same state of shambles and managed to finally rise out of the ashes to be relevant again. So, hopefully, at least in my mind, Lions could do the same.

If college players truly cared about WINNING..........and had at least a sense of history, they would refuse to sign with the LIONS. :gun1:

The history of the franchise indicates failure unseen by most professional sports. However, on the Detroit New Lions Forum, all but one of about 40 people are predicting at least the same record as last season, vast majority see signifigant improvement. Discusting.............
