We all wanted KG.
Now he's Celt paired with new addition Ray Allen.
Paul P. is still a great finishing SF. [Almost as good as RonRon?]
Call your shot on win improvment.
They won 24 last year. HaHaHa wasn't that sweet of them?

I don't think they get to 50, but I think they get into the playoffs. They don't have a bench. Those Big 3 will play a lot of minutes, and I think one guy gets hurt. I just can't see 'em staying healthy all season long.

I think it will take them the first half of the season to get the chemistry worked out and they will finish the second half strong primed for the playoffs. They will be hungry for it too...unlike the Pistons teams under Flip.
They'll be a streaky team trying to find their karma. Expect ups and downs like the Lions of Barry Sanders days............

The weakness of the Celtics may be Coach Rivers...I resent you comparing Lions legend Wayne Fontes to a coach like Doc.

I am done rating a team that has new players and haven`t played one minute together.
Remember the Lakers a few years back, there were probably championship hats and shirts made during preseason with the Payton, Shaq, Kobe & Malone crew. We all know what happened there.
A similar situation happened in football a few yeasr back when the Redskins put together a team that was destined (or so everyone thought) for Super Bowl greatness. You know, the team, it featured Deion Sanders and a host of other Pro Bowlers, they too fell flat on their faces.
I don`t believe there have ever been a team assembled of great talent that has went on and done great things in the first year together.
An injury here, a losing streak there, could cause major problems. Let`s just wait and see what happens.

I'm not sure we're going to see Rajon Rondo break out this year but he should have that up and down performance with some nice ups. The focus those <big 3> guys will get will make it easier for the other guys to look good. all they need are some defensive guys. Ainge will be working the phones. 50 seems a bit high to me but I'll go out on a limb for later ridicule

The East stinks. Period.
So Boston should have no problems collecting 50 wins.
BTW, I find it funny that people are criticizing Boston for only having 3 superstars and no bench, and no supporting cast. Well, isn't that how Detroit has been playing for the past 3 years?
Oh that's right, we had a bench when we won the title, now we have Flip who doesn't believe in using the bench.

It is getting a lot better.
Good teams: Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Miami, Boston
Average teams: Orlando, Washington, NJ, Toronto*, New York*, Milwaukee*
Poor teams: Indiana, Charlotte, Atlanta, Philly
*: Teams with very good chance of moving up to "Good teams" list

If these three kings can stay healthy and Ainge can find the at least three other over achieving scrubs to play with them, and Doc knows when to hold and fold them , then I see them in the EC finals.
Doesn't mean they can win it, but then again it is all about matchups and any team that gets that far can get by a better quality team by sheer luck ...just ask the Cavs...

I agree. If their stars align correctly, they should be playing for the confrerence finals. They need to stay injury-free and pick up a few players that will produce.

So a case of worst to first? Tigers did it.
And Ainge is the next genious GM.
17 to 4 these guys almost double their win total.
And I value your votes.

Offseason is still young. Plenty of time to build a serviceable bench. Besides I'm a big fan of Rajan Ronda. He was their best point guard last year. If Tony Allen can get healthy by the playoffs they can really be dangerous.

I want to see how good the Celtics are when they start playing games outside of New England and immediate surrounding area.
They lost in Orlando.
The fact is that their schedule has been as soft as fluffy pillow.
So right now I would say that New Orleans is the most improved team.

They lost in Orlando. ...by two points after being down by +20.
The telling factor is how they've been winning games.
I'm picking them to be the Eastern Conference representative in the Finals unless of course Flip is removed.

Celtics put the lean years behind them
After two decades of struggles in post-Auerbach era, Boston bounces back with trio of Garnett, Allen and Pierce. Their rise comes at expense of Lakers, who lost out in Garnett sweepstakes.

BOSTON -- Rising like Atlantis from the sea after all this time, their green heaven . . .
This isn't some generic franchise returning from wherever it went for 21 years after winning its last title in 1986.
These are the Boston Celtics, without whom the NBA was like "Paradise Lost" without one of its leading characters -- God or Lucifer -- depending on your point of view.

Through the first 11 games the Celtics are 10 - 1
1. They have played the fewest road games in the NBA only 4
2. They do not have a road win against a team with a winning record.
3. The only team that they played on the road with a winning record, they lost to.
Lets see what happens when they go on road.
They have 3 road games before Dec. As of this time non of those games are against teams with a winning record.
It looks like the league did a good job in arranging the schedule to help the Celtics get off to a quick start. Good for TV ratings and the league.

The conspiracy is bigger than you think.

Orlando jumped out to 10 and 2 last year then settled in to sub .500 play. This year they have a better coach. Magic might be the real story.
Pistons better man up.

Celtics cannot lose. Charlotte was up 2 with less than 5 seconds to go and they had the ball. Boston stole the ball and Ray Allen hit a game winning 3.

I must admit, the Celtics are a fun team to watch. KG, Pierce and Allen are very unselfish and Posey was a nice addition to this team.
Second year PG Rajon Rando will be better come playoff time, also playing with a bunch of veterans that have confidence in his game will help him play with confidence.
Currently they are 9th in the league avg 102.6 PPG, and suprisingly lead the league in giving up 89.6 PPG.
However, Buddah makes a good point, let`s see what they do on the road and against better competition.

Ok you guys that liked the Celts with 50 plus wins, without Allen they lost at home to the Nazz lead Bobcats. If serious injury stops the Celts regular season domination, you still win.
They've proved to me 35 games in and .900 win % they're BOSS.
