Miami won a title with past-their-prime players like Antoine Walker and Jason Williams but calling guys out of retirement or signing 3rd string former superstars? How successful can that be? Grant Hill might still have some gas but its the axle thats broke. Penny? Anyone see how he looked coming off the bench? I didn't really see any of his games so I didn't get a sense of his ability to contribute. Reggie? Are the C's that desperate?

How do players like these fare? They don't have to carry the load anymore and can operate in between the cracks as defenses shift their focuses away from them. But will they get roasted by the younger, more athletic opponents too much?

Didn't we see all that in Webber just this past season?

This whole thing with the Celtics and R. Miller only shows you how desperate Ainge is for anyone who he thinks can even play NBA ball to add to his 3 core guys.

Heck, like I posted before Reggie wasn't even the best Miller sibling basketball player.

Yes, but he was also not used in the offense correctly. Webber could have created plays for others a lot, but that did not happen.

Reggie can hit the trey along with Allan Houston. I am not sure what Hardaway could do at this point.

If those types of guys are allowed to do what they still can do then they will be some sort of help. The Pistons allowed Webber to still do what he could still do very well (pass) for a very short time, which made him look terrible in the post season.

From reading the Pacers forum at Indystar.com I can tell that the idea of Reggie going to the Celtics has a lot of Pacer fans very angry. It's different for him because he spent all 18 years with the same team...and apparently he stll had one year on his contract when he retired and they paid him anyway.

This problem could be solved if Cheryl agreed to moonlight.

The Pacer fans would be happy
The Celtics would get the better Miller and their fans would be happier
The NBA would have their first female player

Well...it would take people's minds off the ref scandal too. Great diversion tactic.

Penny and Shaq... Fredo, Michael, and the Godfather... Doesnt Michael kill Fredo?

“The difference between those three is the Godfather trilogy (http://www.filmsite.org/godf.html),” O'Neal said in classic Shaq-speak. “One is Fredo, who was never ready for me to hand it over to him. One is Sonny, who will do whatever it takes to be the man, and one is Michael, who if you watch the trilogy, the Godfather hands it over to Michael. So I have no problem handing it over to Dwyane.”
It doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize Shaq was comparing Kobe to the psychotic Sonny, and Penny with the weaker Fredo characters from that movie. There only seems to be one that O'Neal would go to the mattresses with. As for Wade, last night it was his shot that sent the Knicks to sleep with the fishes.
“I would love to see the ball in my hands, but I'm not the best player or the best shooter on this team,” O'Neal said. “I don't mind handing it over to Michael Dwyane Corleone.”

THAT would be a real diversion from the cheating scandal...

Lets sign him up, we could use a 3-point threat for sure.

More like Houston, Sheed, and Tay stand at the 3 pt line.
