Okay, my son and I just joined. It looks like fun. The Survivor game could be cool, too, especially if I last longer than Week 1. I hope I don't forget to make my picks each week. :(

Great! What's neat about the setup is you help your group compete, but at the same time compete against each other. Thanx for coming aboard.

I did worse than you did. I have to admit, I screwed off last week. My bad. I did some research this week when making my picks. We'll see if that makes me do better or not....

At least I picked a new team for Survivor this week. There was one guy on there that tried to pick the Colts 2 weeks in a row. :pound:

PistonsForum has moved up in the group standings!!! We are now 5th out of 11 groups with a 62.8% rate.

Our standing is being helped out a lot by my 13-year-old son who is currently in 1st place out of over 130 people. He has managed to pick 36 out of 48 games correctly for a 75% accuracy rate. Maybe I should take him to Vegas....

I'm guessing the percentages for all teams are gonna fall this week, but PF.com might have the upper hand because of so few players. PF will drop in percentage, but might move up in team standings to #5 or better. Coynejeremy & Tater are leading the charge for the good guys.

I just realized - I must have had some really bad picks the first few weeks, then I lost interest. Let me try to improve my average these next few weeks, and I think that may help the team a lot, seeing as how I am about in last place percentagewise (still about 59% though).

I think I missed a week or two, but I had planned to stop picking too just because I was getting bored with it. I checked in today, for some unknown reason, and was reading about how the site meant so much to the guy who runs it and how he appreciates each and every one of us. Then he said it's one of his few pleasures on the internet.

So I felt kind of bad and I'm going to try to finish out the season.

Even though the Saints still have an outside shot at a wild card, I'm having second thots about them against the Eagles. The Saints have been inconsistent, the Eagles have a winning road record & the Saints have a losing home record. I'm doubting Bush will play since Stecker has had a couple decent weeks filling in. I doubt Brees will put up the numbers against the Eagles that he did against AZ.

Any thots?

More controversy this week with McNabb. He was quoted by Pam Oliver as saying that he's leaving Philly and will be on a winner next year (or something like that). When confronted, he denied the story. McNabb is ending a good career with the Eagles. I don't think he'll be back. Many may not want him back. I say he goes out with a whimper........

After reading GB wants the #1 seed & homefield, I have to go with Favre playing more than just a half...I'm good with the Pack.

After much contemplation...I'm okay with the Lions.

Unless Buffalo gets two feet of snow tonight (not gonna happen, they're predicting a hi of 56 degrees and sprinkles for tomorrow)...Giants.

The Saints better play if they want to even have shot at the WC...Saints.

"Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Otter (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001513/): Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

Jamm, Falcs haven't quit and Sea is Div winner. The Colts are resting too.

So it looks like we're going with Bengals and Bears, but the Vikings vs Broncos and the Jets vs Cheifs are still undecided.

Thee, Bill and Nemo say Jets while Bill's son and I have the Chiefs. If no one else has an opinion, it looks like we'll go with the J.E.T.S. Jets, Jets, Jets.

Nemo and I say the Vikings while Bill and his son are going with the Broncos. So we have a tie unless someone else breaks it.

There's a Saturday game but we all agree on the outcome of that one, so we have until just before 1pm Sunday to make our choice for the Vikings v Broncos. I've already changed my Chiefs pick to the Jets.

I could go either way on Cowboys-Redskins.One of the most famed rivalries in the NFL...in DC on the last weekend. Dallas has homefield wrapped up and has little to play for. The Skins can get the wild card by just winning.

The Colts-Titans game is the same situation, except the Colts are at home. Colts have nothing to play for...Titans get the wild card with a win.

My first inclination is to go with the Steelers, Seahawks, Chargers and Bucs, but I don't know if all 4 home teams will win this week. There has to be an upset game somewhere.

I noticed that you both have the Skins beating the Seahawks, but I think I'm going to have to go with Seattle in this one. The Skins have the Taylor tragedy as motivation, but I still like Seattle's 7-1 home record and playoff experience against the 4-4 Road record and Taylor-less secondary of the Skins.

The game I'm most on the fence about is the Giants vs Bucs game. The Giants (Manning) play much better on the road than they do at home, compiling a 7-1 ROAD record compared to a 3-5 home record.

I have to work tomorrow and 2 of the 4 games will be played while I'm at work. So I'm going to tentatively put down all 4 home teams as my picks and if we are able to come to a consensus before I leave for work, I'll change them to whatever we decide.

I'M BACK from Thailand. Sorry guys.

Lets do this playoff thing.

I think we have to go for the Steelers, the Jags are getting overhyped imo.

I agree with Jammer's comment about the Skins-Hawks and would like to choose the Seahawks at home.

The Titans don't resemble an NFL team right now with all those guys out. Chargers win.

My gut says to pick the Giants. I think I've been wrong on the Giants a number of times this season, but I just think they pull it out this time.

So:
Steelers
Seahawks
Chargers
Giants

So the votes so far are:

Steelers iii Jags i
Seahawks ii Skins ii
Chargers iiii Titans
Giants ii Bucs ii

Nemo TheeTFD Jammer and I have weighed in with our opinions.

The Giants-Bucs game is tied, but Jammer actually seems to feel more strongly that the Giants will win, so if we change his vote to the Giants, the only tie is Seahawks-Skins.

Someone else needs to give us their vote to break the tie, otherwise, maybe we should go with the home team, which would be the Seahawks.

So I am voting Steelers, Seahawks, Chargers, Giants, until someone can break the ties or convince me otherwise. Sound good to everyone?

I saw that earlier tonight. Garcia has had the Giants' number. I'm still leaning slightly towards the Bucs in this one. The experience of Garcia and Gruden over the mistake inclined, inexperience of Mini Manning. All things being equal, tough to pass up home field advantage in the playoffs (but that Giants road record is impressive).

Oh decisions, decisions!

You had a good weekend, Now It's my turn.

New England will spread out the defense of Jacksonville and Brady will hit for well over 300 yards of passing. Jacksonville front 4 will not be able to pressure Brady. 31-21......New England

Green Bay just won't lose to Seattle. They look good but my gut tells me that Favre and Lambeau will outplay The Seattle coach and QB returning for a visit. 28-24......Green Bay

The Colts are getting better injury wise and have that date with destiny (New England) so you cannot count them out. LT can be stopped on the ground and Dungy is just the coach to do it. 37-28......Colts

My upset pick is the New York Football Giants over the Cowboys. TO is nearing a meltdown and the Cowboys have been inconsistent the last few weeks. Romo has the fumbled snap from last years playoffs on his mind, and his new sweety to cloud his brain. 21-17......G Men.

Hey, how about a little reseach next games, if I had known Colts were 0 and 5 after a bye and the Bolts had beaten them 5? straight at Indy, I would've liked Bolts.
Maybe
One guy voted for Favre as MVP, the other 49 gave it to Brady. If they match up for SB ?? it will be soooo Cheesy.
Pack and Pats........again.

My upset pick is the New York Football Giants over the Cowboys. TO is nearing a meltdown and the Cowboys have been inconsistent the last few weeks. Romo has the fumbled snap from last years playoffs on his mind, and his new sweety to cloud his brain. 21-17......G Men. qoute NEMO
All wrong but right.
TO had his QBs back. They say he paid for the trip to Cancun.
They had nothing to play for for the last 3 weeks.
Dude,,,did you nail the score? far f'ing out !!!

Thanks for reminding me..........Still thought Dallas was inconsistent in the game against the Giants. They out gained the Giants by over 100 yards and had 10 more minutes of posession. Dallas became a different team in the 4th quarter, allowing QB pressure and untimely penalties and miscues. The head coach had no answers. My best pick of the playoffs so far.........

This is what happened with the Lions and Pack a few years back. Lions couldn't beat them 3 straight times. With home field adv.

That was Brett Favre's first playoff game. We played them the last game of the season and then the first game of the playoffs. Both games were at the Silverdome. We beat them the last game of the season without Barry. Team thought they were a lock the following week with Barry back. We had an 11 point lead when they came back and then won it on a hail mary type pass at the end of the game. Sterling Sharpe was left wide open on the play.

On an across the grain pass of course. QB's are taught not to do that.

The way to really improve the forum standing in this game is by "Tatering".

If you get a whole bunch of new people (Slippy, Roscoe, etc.) to join the picks game and we all pick the same team to win the Super bowl (e.g. New England) I would imagine the percentages would jump up a bit.

What are you saying, add some dummy/space filling contestants?
All we need are their passwords.

No, ask them to join for one week, and then it is legit...It will only take them a minute to click N.E.

I'm thinking the game host must have a provision to prevent that (like not letting anyone join now), but maybe not...? It wouldn't hurt to try, especially since there's probably a few other teams thinking of doing the same thing.

If it's not against the rules...why not go for the gusto?
