OK, now we can ask questions on anything under the sun. Sports or otherwise.

e.g.

Which two forum members/moderators/owners are cross dressers?

How many Stomachs does a cow have?

Who won Super Bowl 20?

etc.

If you get it correct you are tagged and you get to ask the next question.

No looking up answers. Cheaters never prosper.:yellowprison:

I'll start.

What is an "ephus pitch"? (You don't need to be exact on this one, just be close).

basketbills

It's like an exaggerated slow arcing pitch they used to use in baseball..maybe Satchel Page threw it? Anyway I use the term when I'm playing catch with my son.

Good Bill. Tag, you're it.

It's a pitch thats really slow and is easy to hit but has an almost vertical arc.

It's rarely thrown these days.

Homer in the Gloamin.............

grandpa used to talk baseball to me all the time. I can't remember the example he gave me, but I think it refers to a walk off home run.

basketbills

Well...it was a home run so I'll give you credit. It refers to a famous Wrigley Park Homer hit when it was nearly dark. Gabby Hartnett in the 1930s.

You are it.

Thanks Nemo, even though I ddn't really get anything right, I'll take it.

Money notes are made mostly from a special blend of cotton and linen. In 1932, when a shortage of cash occurred somewhere in the US, notes were made out of another material for a brief period. Name that material.

Bonus: Name that above-mentioned location in the US.

There's some weird trivia going on in this thread! Not that there's anything wrong with that. :)

Old TV and currency material are not areas of expertise for me, but old movies are, so I just wanted to chime in about Dre's guess. The most famous movie featuring the then "Dead End Kids" was Angels With Dirty Faces, from 1938, where they all looked up to the local gangster hero played by James Cagney.
