In the process exlion Cade McCown rallys the Raider from 17pt down to 21-20 but fumble away chances to win.

Looking at the stats, looks like the Li-downs did not get many rushing yards. Well, only 9 more wins to go (Kitna says so).
On the bright side, this is a game the Lions normally lose. So, kudos.

Here on the east coast the SD-Chi game was on. After it was a given SD was going to win, I was amazed Fox swithed to this game.
I just knew somehow the Lions would pull out the loss, it didn`t happen, I was surprisingl dissapointed!!!!!
Oakland came back in the 2nd half to take a 21-20 lead. Then turnovers caused them to lose the game. Detroit needed to start off with a win, and Oakland was willing to oblige. Both Green Bay and Minnesota had better wins today and still seem a step better that the Lions.

GB got lucky as Nabb blew it.
But the GB Dee kept them in the game. Solid Dee win for GB.
Minny Darkoed Falcs. 2 Dee TDs.
P.S. D59 many disappointing returns

This is a good art. about the change in attitude in the Lion lockerroom. He forgets Wilkerson and others.

I don't think the Vikings are very good. This is a very winnable game for the Lions.
Expect the Lions to lose to the Vikings. They'll control the line of scrimmage. They'll control the clock..........

This week we separate the goal of 10 wins from the reality of a 3-5 win season.............

Every Lions team is different. They all lose 10 or more games, but they do it in different ways.
I think the Lions will stink this year, like always, but for some reason I think they will beat the Vikings this week.

Lions pessimist that I have learned to be over my 40 years of watching them, I somehow still have faith that they will get 6-7 wins...don't ask me why cuz I don't know. Maybe I'm just weighing the odds. One team can not be losers forever, can they? Even blind squirrels find a nut eventually, right?

I am not nuts, drunk, or a Lions fan, however, they will win at least 10 games this year, make it to the playoffs...............check back in December for my answer to what they will do in the playoffs........

1) Never bet the Lions either way
2) Stop drinking water from the Potomac

Ten win seasons just don't happen around these parts very often. Maybe 4 times in the last 40 years. Odds are against this one.

A friend of mine put it best this morning.
The Lions beat the worst team in the league last year. It was a game they were supposed to win.
I'm scared of Minny's toughness, Green Bay's defense and Chicago's ability to bury us.
I can't see this team going better than .500 in the division. 10 wins would be a miracle.

Thankfully, the Raiders didn't sign Russell. Sunday's outcome may have been quite different.

Boy, am I going to have fun at y'all's expense! btw, still think my picking up the Detroit D was dumb? Dewayne White is Defensive Player of the Week. Joey is with the Falcons now, not us.

Exactly. While I'm glad they won the game (something Lions teams in the past few years probably wouldn't have done), the only thing that game assured us is that we won't go winless on the season.
I mean, common, it was OAKLAND. They had the first pick in the draft for a reason.
Their starting QB was our backup QB from last year. Their #3 WR was our scout team WR from last year.

That's the D.White story
Still a huge huge road win. In 15 tries we had never won in Oakland or LA against the Black Holers. Times change sweethearts !

I'm certainly no Lion slappy but for a team that opened the decade with an 11-45 road record (5 of 11 Ws came in 2000), beating anyone on the road IS a big deal.
