The Lions have been moving the ball well so far but haven't been able to score yet.
0-0 after 1 Q.

2 mistakes so far by the Lions' coaching staff.
#1 - Martz calling a naked bootleg of Kitna on 3 and 1 from the big package.
#2 - Marenelli not challenging the 3rd down catch that clearly hit the ground first. The Vikings then hurried to the line and spiked the ball (knowing that the play would have been reversed). Then a bout a minute later (and far too late), Marenelli finally decided to throw the challenge flag.
....and now Jon Kitna is out of the game with an injury.

Following this on gamecast. Lions' rushing numbers are dismal -- as usual. It must be the Curse of Barry Sanders.

Kitna got punched out. But O'Sullivan is moving the ball.

O'Sullivan is trying to do too much and is getting burned for it. 2 INTs and a fumble returned for a TD.
DeWayne White is a BEAST. What a pick-up he has been. The defensive player of the week last week and has been making plays and getting pressure again this week.

All I'm getting is hilites. I had Minnys D but gave it up for Colts.
Roy W fumbled, now we are trying too hard and shooting ourselves in the foot.

Kitna comes back in, starts moving the chains and Roy turns it over on a fumble.:frusty::frusty::frusty:
The FIFTH turnover for the Lions in the game.
Hopefully we can hold them and get the ball back for the offense.

Wow, what an absolutely ugly game. A million turnovers, penalties all over the place and both kickers miss the game winning field goal in the last minute.
Off to overtime and the Vikings have the ball....

Better to win ugly than lose ugly. Kitties pulled it off.
I hope the team draws a lot of inspiration from Kitna's performance coming out of this game.

The Lions win the Superb... uh... week 2 game.
It hasn't been pretty the past 2 weeks, but I'll give the team credit. These were 2 wins that they usually lose.
What an ugly, ugly game.
Turnovers: Lions 5, Vikings 5
Penalties: Lions 7 for 44 yards, Vikings 12 for 96 yards
Missed Field Goals to win the game in the last minute: Lions 1, Vikings 1
QBs knocked out of the game with injuries: Lions 1, Vikings 1
Rushing Avg: Lions 2.7, Vikings 3.7
But hey, a win is a win baby!

I agree Dteam. Kitna played like a man possessed. But the guy needs to learn how to slide! He left the game with a back/neck injury and is throwing his body around like a freight train. He's gonna get himself killed!
What a different feel to the team when Kitna went out. As soon as he came back in it was like an entirely different team. You can just feel the presence and confidence that he has.
The Philadelphia Eagles will bring all you slappies back to reality next weekend. Figure to see the real Lions next week. This party's over.

We knocked out Jackson? Wonderful !
Eagles can be had if our corners can go Man to Man. Like GB did.
Redskins might handle them on Monday nite.
HUGE WIN BABY !!

I, too, hope that the Lions will draw off Kitna's play in this game. He is a real gamer. He might not have the most talent in the league but he really uses what he has. Hope he does not try to do too much though, and get hurt. He isn't the youngest one on the field.
