The Lions take their 3-1 record and 1 game winning streak on the road to visit the 2-1 Redskins (Skins had a bye this week).

Game predictions anyone?

Actually, all a good fan has to do is fly old glory with only 48 stars on it. They're hard to find but could prove to be worth it. I do this cause the last time we won the championship, our flag had only 48 stars.:stirthepot:

last year the Rams were pretty good with Linehan and Bulger. Rest Bulger get a defense and things will improve. trade Kitna for Bulger.
THis guy has us beating Wash.

Yes, another Lions loss from Tater.

Keep em coming DT, it has worked pretty good so far!

I think I actually predicted them to beat the Bears & Raiders.

I predicted them to lose to the Vikings and get blown out by Philly, I think.

So overall, I'm 3-1.

If they pull out a win in Washington, I will admit that...something has changed.

Kiss O' Death...Lions/Skins nat. TV game. Sorry Lions you're not ready for prime time.
let's see Skins beat Eagles 20 -12 in Philly. Eagles beat Lions 56 -21. Skins should beat Lions 50 -20* ...*due to time constraint.

Same old story with the D. They are just getting DOMINATED. No pressure on the QB, poor tackling and horrible coverage.

Washington is owning the time of possession. They have already had the ball for 11 minutes MORE than the Lions have and it's only the 2nd Q. If this keeps up the D will be dead by the 2nd half.

Same old story for the Oline as well. Washington is only rushing 4 and dropping 7 into coverage but are still getting crazy pressure on Kitna.

Martz is even using the shotgun (something he doesn't like to use) and having TEs stay in to block and the Skins are STILL knocking Kitna around like a rag doll.

On a 3 step drop, Kitna has at least 1 if not 2 or 3 Skins right in his face by the time his foot hits the field for the 3rd time. That is just inexcusable.

Please tell me that I'm not the only one watching this? The Skins are running THROUGH our players. Did you just see Kennedy get owned by Sellers? Then on the very next play, Betts carried 3 of our defenders for about 6 yards.

What a difference Kevin Jones makes to our running game. He is clearly the best back we have.

That was a very un-Martz like drive. About 6 running plays to 1 pass. I'm glad he did it though instead of stubbornly sticking to the pass when the Skins were daring them to run. I wish we could have come away with 7 from that drive, but hopefully the 3 points and the rest for the D will get things turned around.

Skins up 14-3.

Backus just got thrown to the ground like a little girl (sorry to any little girls who may be watching this). Kitna gets sacked in the end zone for a safety.

Portis fumbles in the red zone, Lions recover.

As absolutely dominated as the Lions have been in this game, they're only down 13 points with almost the entire 4th Q to go.

What an absolutely garbage call on 3rd down. First they waste a time out, then they call a 0 yard pass and hope to get YAC on a 3rd and 3.

Lions punt and the Skins return it to the Lions 2 yard line.

To top it off, Marinelli wastes a challenge and a timeout. How stupid. They had about 5 minutes to review the thing during the injury.

EXACTLY!!!

I just posted that exact same thing somewhere else (I was starting to feel like the only guy in a chat room, talking to himself)

They had a tv time out and an injury to review the play - which was PLAIN AS DAY. Yet they STILL threw the challenge flag and gave away a timeout.

The Lions should just give back their challenge flag. They don't use it when they should and then they use it when they shouldn't.

Didn't I tell you to go easy on the Lions?
You knew the odds were we would get owned all damn day.
But that's what I hate about head coaches, they think about doing what they do good without respect to opponent forte.
We would've been better off with 4 TEs, 1 WR and direct snaps to a RB.

I have been a true-blue Lions fan throughout these really bad years. often the only one with a Lions jersey in a room of 200. These last few games gave me some hope that it was turning around. That was shattered to smithereens today. It was the worst Lions performance I have ever seen over 55 years of being a Lion fan.

It was so bad I am not even pissed off. Kitna is a bum and we should immediately switch to our youngest, hope for the future quarterback to get him some experience. This season is lost.

The play calling was so bad it seemed like opposite world. We never went long to CJ to loosen up Washington. Heck, we only threw to him twice on short, standing still routes. The defensive personnel weren't that bad. But there is something horribly wrong with the zone that we play every down. The holes in the zone were so big that we made Campbell look like Brady.

I thought we had an improved offensive line. These 330 pounders were pushed around like tackling dummies. The worst was the right tackle, who lost every match-up, his man got around him so easily he looked like part of our backfield.

I have to stop now. I am making myself physically ill. I have to go to the vomitorium quick.:ill:

They still have a winning record. I'd wait until they drop like four or five games in a row, which is entirely possible.

Yeah even if they had gone into Washigton 4-0 and a decent defense, they still would have lost. They just can't win in a city with so many crooked politicians:). This one was marked L on the schedule when it came out. Time to lick their wounds, work on that O line during the bye week and come out swinging next time.

Agreed Bill. It's nice to have KJ back. The more he plays, the more he'll feel confident on that repaired foot. As you said, that's about it for positives in this game though.

KJ was complaining after the game that he didn't get enough touches.

Asked about the way he was used in the first half, Jones said: “I don’t agree with that. I think I need to be in there consistently getting touches so I can get into the rhythm of the game.”

Coach Rod Marinelli said the Lions stuck to their rotation and the decision was based on Jones’ health.

This was Jones’ third game since he suffered a serious foot injury Dec. 10 last season against Minnesota.

Jones said he wasn’t 100% yet, but added: “I’m good enough to play and good enough to get the ball.” Talking about how he played in the second half, Jones said: “Hopefully that shows them that I can go.”

Even at less than 100%, he is clearly the best they have.

I can see both sides' points of view on this. KJ feels like he can help the team and is ready to contribute. Judging by his production when he's been in there, he's right.

But I can also understand wanting to ease him back though. It was a serious injury which can take some players a full year to recover from - see Teddy Lehman.

It's nice to talk about the possibilities with Kevin Jones. I expect him to be injured again this season. He's injury prone and will not contribute much.

This team still doesn't have much of a running attack. Rarely does the team rushing reach 100 yards. This o-line is terrible again.

the game plan was opposite of what it needed to be. we needed KJ to run like that early to open up the pass. plus our o-line sucks. jeff backus has been overrated dating all the way back to his MI days.

How could they establish a running game if their offensive line sucks?

Funny.

Though I have seen it before and even yesterday with Tampa Bay vs the Colts.

Lions 20 rushes for 68 yards
Bucs 12 rushes for 17 yards

We can only hope that the Bucs average less that one yard per carry in the next game vs the Lions.....but with the Lions inconsistent defense some unknown back will run wild and have a career day...

It always seems to work that way. Unknowns and backups always have coming out parties and career days against us.

I seriously don't even get my hopes up when the other team's starters can't play due to injury. Just another opportunity for some unknown to make a name for himself against us.
