Someone asked this on my Lions website:

Hey I was trying to remember a story I saw in Sports Illustrated a zillion years ago.

I think it was Danielson who had finished practicing in the football half of the Silverdome and the Pistons were finishing up their practice on the basketball side.

Danielson got in a bet with a Piston about who could shoot better, him with a football or the Piston with a basketball. They start shooting three-pointers (not sure about this part) and Danielson beat him solid. Turns out he can throw a football and make more shots than a basketball player.

This story ring a bell with any of you longtime Lions fans? Anyone remember who the Piston was? Do I even have the Lions QB right? I know for sure it was the Silverdome -- but that's the only part I'm sure of.


Any ideas?

Sounds like something Salley would do, but Danielson was outta town when Salley got here.
